What ratio of wax to oil do you use?
Well here is the problem.
All my recipes and notes were lost in the fire.
I'm thinking a few grams per litre if memory serves me.
But my memory is faulty to say the least.
Start there and see.
Otherwise add a couple grams to improve stiffness.
And a teaspoon of mint per litre .
Or what ever scent you like.

Hi @Bill284, so this is how I continued. I squeezed everything thoroughly into a clean container and used baking paper for easier release and maybe it would have worked if I didn't put it under the paper too...

But otherwise it turned out great, I'll just have to loosen it a bit to put it in the jars. Otherwise, it's like a stone from the fridge, I'm curious about the consistency at room temperature 😉

Above 20 it becomes a liquid fairly fast.
It’s not mandatory to add wax just something I found made it more user friendly.
Back then I added shea butter and concentrated vitamin cream and a couple things I can’t remember 😂
But the cannabis in the coconut oil is the medicinal part that matters.
The other stuff was more for texture.
Looks great buddy.
I gave some to a friend on Wednesday he was amazed how well it worked.
Hope yours does too. :thumb:

Thanks so much @Bill284 for teaching me such a great ointment thanks so much. I transferred it to sterilized jars and then boiled them to extend the life of the ointment and this is how prendane looks like in jars 😉

What do you use to filter out the plant material? I've used cheese cloth but too much of the fines get through, I've tried a pillow case but takes too long for the coco to drip through.

Thinking about trying a coffee filter next, but looking for a balance between not taking all day and too much grit in the final product.

I use fine micron wine making bags.
Simple to use.
Reusable, inexpensive and sold on Zon.

After I warm the oil & water I lay the bag in. @Azimuth
Pour in decarbed weed and stir for 12 hrs.
Then just lift the bag out and twist.
Oil drains leaving plant matter in your bag.
Various sizes & micron are available on Zon.

Ok, thanks. I have a nut milk bag I might try next, then.

I do pretty small scale, but I have a pasta making screw press that I use to squeeze out the oil. It's a maybe 6"/15cm steel cylinder with screw-on end caps (comes with multiple end caps each with different sized holes) on one end and a screw press on the other.

What I usually do is put the plant/oil combo into a pouch of material and stuff that down the barrel and then screw press the oil out. The plant material comes out surprisingly dry so it seems to do a pretty good job at that point. It's just that the material is a pretty tight weave and oil, particularly coconut oil, doesn't filter through it very fast at all and as it cools it becomes even harder to do.

Maybe I'll try a two phase process, first pass for the big stuff and a second for the fines.

I do it while it's hot.
Hence the gloves.
Your right about the oil though.
As soon as it starts to coagulate it plugs the fine micron bag.
Being able to warm it for the 2nd filter might help.

I'm mostly interested in finding the right mesh size so the oil flows through but the fine gritty material gets trapped by the fabric. Right now the weave of the fabric I used is tight enough to hold the liquid oil and it drips through a drop at a time.

I've tried cheese cloth but too much sediment gets through that material.

I'm thinking coffee filters might have the same issue so I like your wine filter bags. That reminded me about the nut milk bags I had purchased a while back for this very purpose but had completely forgotten about.

Is the plant not getting enough nitrogen? Or are extremely wet or dry soils and incorrect pH levels slowing or preventing plants from taking up nutrients? I hope you've found a solution to your problem.

Hi everyone, I've been having some leaf problems on my Lemon Drizzle. I don't know what it could be, what do you think?

Otherwise, the Royal AK is doing great, I don't see any problems there...

Greetings to all fans of good cannabis, Royal AK is in the middle of the ninth week in vegetables. The @ViparSpectra KS5000 light is running at 75% and I'll leave them on for another week, so they'll have a total of ten weeks which I think is the longest I've left them running for that long and I hope you can tell 😉 Otherwise the girls are starting to do better . So the plan is that next week I will increase the power of the lights to 100% and do the final defol and prepare them to switch to bloom. And this is what it looks like after today's watering...
