MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow - Cherry AK47 - Afghan Kush - Grape Ape

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

By the way, i am talking about checking your nute/water ppm before watering to see if it needs more water to thin out. @ guy and i agree it is with everything together but with everything together the mix might be strong, you can tell deficiencies in the plant by leaf burn, color, curling, etc. etc.

I agree 100% on that. I was talking just on adjust individual nutrients based on what the plant looks like it needs and you can't get an individual reading off of just one. I need a TDS meter but my funds are tied up elsewhere for the most part. :thumb:

Thanks Guys..:bravo::bravo:...I'm keeping close watch on things now...Koala..i have both lights on 18/6..........MS

They Are looking great though that's for sure:thumb:

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

@Oneguy......try look on amazon, youʻd be amazed at some deals they have with free shipping.

@MajorStone....How are the plants responding to 18/6???? I wanna try twelves12 suggestion of the GLR grow light schedule when i finally set my tent up, i put my starts on 19/6 right now, donʻt ask why the number i just did, figured my plants needed a rest before they become tweakers.:passitleft:

It is worth doing. My current grow is on GLR and it has been since I started. You can go over and check my journals I have in my sig. The new journal are the veg plants so you can see my results with it.:thumb:

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

Here's some shots today November 15, 2011.
Plants have all grown 2 to 4 inches since last photo shoot. The Afghan kush is tall and lanky while the grape and AK-47 are bushing out. I topped the Afghan Kush B and AK-47 on the 10th of Nov.

On Nov 12 the lights were now set to flower cycle @ 12 on then 12 off.
the total was 31 days in veg cycle.

The Group shot:From clockwise top left,
C. Afghan Kush (Joanie)
A. Cherry AK-47 (Annie)
D. Grape Ape (Boo)
B. Afghan Kush (Kathy)

The Kush plants still show yellowing leaves and i don't know why. Today pots were dry on top and I watered with nutrient water 1 quart each. It was the bloom nutrient 2-4-4 mixed up per lable for a light feeding @ 2 teaspoons per gallon of water. I hope that they react favorable to the feeding and don't fry the leaves again like last time. Here's a shot of the leave damage previous.
Those white spots aren't whitefly...I got sloppy touching up the reflective plywood siding!:smokin:
IMG_101511.JPG

I also bought a digital ph meter to check on the feeding solutions. It confirmed the tap water here is 7.3 ph (not bad) and I will adjust the feeding water to 6.5 to 7 ph each watering.
Here's a height shot of the tallest.

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

I would say the yellowing browning is a slight nutrient burn/Ph issue. If it gets worse I Would say flush and then Ph to about 6.5-6.8 pending on how your medium tests. expect plenty of stretch since now you are going into 12/12.:goodjob:

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

Could be a ton of things, could be nute burn, could be heat burn/ too much light on them. And the list goes on and on, do you rotate your plants in that space and alternate them??? might be worth a shot. Looking good tho, liking it very much.:bravo:

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

Today is December 3 , 2011 and it has been 2 weeks or so since the last photos of the girls. They are getting bigger and filling out since I topped them. The temp in the grow room is the same as outside and it warms during the day and cools at night. A little powdery mildew has appeared on the bottom leaves of the largest plants and I have purchased an organic fungicide (Actinovate) and treated the folage and the soil. I have also increased the Nute strength to just below lable recommendation for a full feeding.
Heres a group shot:

I have also set up a Nursery/Mother area that is on 18/6 lighting and away from the 12/12 plants..........MS

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

If you ask me...and noone did....I think your soil ph is low. I would bet your runnoff is 5.4 - 5.7 judging by your yellowing on your leaves. I am thinking N lockout slightly. Did you add any dolomite pelletized lime to the FF soil before planting to help buffer the soil and help with cal/mag supply to the plant? With the yellowing with green veins like you have or had in the pics The PH is my first guess.

Also...if you are useing Foxfarms Ocean forrest it wont need any feeding till after 1 month usually.

The plants look not to bad for your first indoor grow. Nice selection by the way. You should also be aerating your tap water for 24 hours if you are growing organically...or use RO filtered water and calmag.

I did not read every post in this thread so I may miss something. Also...I am onlt on my second year growing so what do I know....hehe

Re: MajorStone's First Indoor Soil Grow-Cherry AK47, Afghan Kush, Grape Ape

It is December 20, 2011 and I fed and watered the plants today. The afghans look thin and weak but the AK-47 and grape ape look great. All have gained in height and I have moved the LED light up a foot on it's chains.
Here is a group shot.
notice the color difference between the Afghans (top left, bottom right) and the AK-47 top right. The grape ape is still short and I have put her on a pot to raise her to the light. I believe the afghans don't do well in the cold as the shop gets down to 40 degrees at night and all plants are slowed by this.

Here is a close up of the Cherry AK-47 just after I misted the plants with organic fungicide.....MS

This is the best of the afghan kush plants. The one that was stunted just never caught up.
