OG Cheese Mini SOG In A 20 Site Cloner & 600W LED

Hello again fellow growers. It's been a while since I posted a journal on here. I hope all your gardens are green :yummy:.
I've been growing DWC for almost 5 years now and got the itch to go perpetual.

I've been kicking around the idea of using one of these 20 site cloners to go from fresh cut clone to fully flowered bud.
If it works I'll stagger multiple cloners to get my perpetual garden.
First I want to see what kind of yield I can expect before investing in multiple cloning stations.
So here I shall test my concept and see what kinds of nugs we can get from a single 20 site cloner.
If I can pull 1/4oz or bigger colas it will be worth it in the end.

Mother plant is an OG Cheese grown from seed in a 3x3 tent, 5 gallon DWC and lit by a 600w reflector series Vipar LED light (260w at the killawatt meter)
Fed by Humbolts Secret base nutes, some Great White and calmag.
Shes a big girl so taking 20 cuttings at a time is easy peasy.
Been vegging for about 8 weeks now.

I am using a hydrofarm OxyClone 20 site cloner.

I ditched the tiny air pump and air stone it came with. I added two 4 inch air stones hooked up to a huge pump. Serious overkill on the bubbly. I love the hemispherical stones. They sit flat on the bottom and don't move around.

The Light I'm using in my flower room is a Full spectrum COB LED 1800w advertised (600w pull at the wall). Has switchable veg/bloom modes.

I took 20 cuttings last weekend and put them in the cloner. I did not use a humidity dome but I did spray them down twice a day for the first three days. Roots started to appear after 5 days. To this point 19/20 have rooted and I'm confident the last one will root as well eventually.

So nine days after taking the cuttings and letting them root & recover I flipped to flower.

I'm shooting for at least a 1/4 oz dried & cured per site. I can run four of these oxyclone units under my light easily. So if this works I should have a badass lil perpetual garden.

Day 2 of flower. Had to PH down a bit. Everything looking good. Finally starting to get some vertical growth.

Day 3 of flower. Roots are really taking off.
IMG_20191007_191251093.jpg

I had one clone that didn't make the cut so i replaced it with a fresh cutting.
I'm interested to see if it roots in 12/12.

Flower day 5.
Adjusted the PH down a bit. Plants are looking better, greener

Roots are killing itIMG_20191009_193305959.jpg

Flower Day 7.
Did a rezzy change today. Upped nutes to 600ppm.
Let's see if she responds to the food.
You can see the fountain doing it's thing in the root porn.

Flower day 8
Ph is good, ppm dropped a bit. She's on autopilot. I'll bump up nute strength next rez change.
I pulled the waterfall pump out of the rez today. The roots are long enough to just use the airstones the rest of the way.

Flower day 11
Everything looks good. I've got a few clones that are out performing the rest. I might have to give em a pinch to slow em down. I was hoping for a more even canopy but it's still early.

I ended up giving my mother plant a trim and tossing her in the flower tent as well. Shes been vegging for 8+ weeks now so it ought to turn into a monster.

Flower day 13

I'm pretty sure the one clone I replaced isn't going to root but 19/20 isn't bad.
Performed some stem pinching to even out my canopy.
I'll do a rezzy change in a couple days and up my nutes another 100ppm.
Currently running at 700ppm.

Momma cheese is kicking ass in the flower tent
That's my 3' x 3' scrog frame and it's almost touching on all sides.
I'm not scrogging this grow but I'll use the frame & some netting to help support the chunky nugs later in flower.

Flower day 17

We have tiny budz!!!!

IMG_20191021_084828117.jpgIMG_20191021_084657836.jpgIMG_20191021_084631694.jpg

Performed a rez change yesterday. Set nutes at 800 ppm. No signs of burn so we will roll with it.
Roots are really starting to take off.

IMG_20191021_081204955.jpgIMG_20191021_081133818_HDR.jpgIMG_20191021_081254112_HDR.jpg

There are a few sites that just aren't performing as well as the rest. I'm sure it has everything to do with my clone selection from the mother plant. Ohh well live and learn. Next time I'll try for more identical cuttings.
Aside from a few gimps the rest are doing great and my canopy is finally evening out.

Momma Cheese is kicking ass. Performed a heavy defol and a rez change on her a few days ago.

7 weeks to go!!!!

Flower day 24 :ganjamon:

Things are finally going great!!! 16 out of the original 20 sites are just killing it.

I have battled a few issues over the last week. I had some yellowing of the leaves which I read as a N deficiency so I upped the strength of my "A" micro nute part 10% for more N.

I also introduced 10ml of GH Florabloom (I mix 5 gallons at a time) since she's 3 1/2 weeks into flower. Well all that cured my N def. and helped with some healthy new growth but led to some tip burn on the older leaves..

It's under control now but I'm not loving these Humboldt's Secret nute package.
Soooooo I ordered a bag of Mega Crop. Ought to be here in time for the next res change.

IMG_20191028_181705990 (1).jpgIMG_20191028_181718791 (1).jpgIMG_20191028_181801604.jpg

Roots are definitely all intertwined with one another now. The "plant" isn't root bound, there is still a bit of room for a bigger ball in the rezzy

The Mother is loving life

IMG_20191028_181734149.jpgIMG_20191028_181727106.jpg

Anyway everything is good in my garden. I hope all is well in yours :passitleft:

So here we are 4 weeks in to flower. They seem to have stopped stretching and are just focused on growing buds.
Colas are 9 to 10 inches tall. Most are flowering right down to the blue sponge puck.
Side branching is minimal. I'm just plucking a few leafs here and there.
Rezzy change planned for this weekend.
I'll up my ppm to 1000.

IMG_20191031_163315921 (1).jpg

Mother plant still stretching a bit but it was a week behind in flower. Did another defol today.

My bag of Mega Crop showed up today. I'm torn on finishing out the grow with the Humbolts secret or switch to the Mega. I bought the MC to use on my Biscotti's but I'm always down to experiment. Maybe finish off the cloner experiment with the MC and run the Humbolts with the mother and compare at the end?

Whatcha all think?

Flower day 32

IMG_20191105_200336334.jpgIMG_20191105_200257369.jpg
Here we are halfway through flower!!!

So three days ago I changed the nutes out to the Mega Crop when I performed my rezzy change.
I mixed the MC at 6g per gallon and ph'd down to 5.8
So far so good. Growth is steady and I've not seen any signs of deficiencies or tip burning.
So I'll continue on my path of upping the nute strength at every weekly rez change.

IMG_20191105_200420777.jpgIMG_20191105_200406693.jpgIMG_20191105_200358197.jpg

The mother plant got switched over to the MC as well and seems to be loving it. Again shes about a week in flower behind the cloner.

So $hi^$ on autopilot basically. I check the PH daily sometimes twice daily but that's just because I love being in my garden.

Everything is progressing nicely.
She's really starting to pack on some weight.

I'm really surprised at the amount of trichomes that are present already this early in flower.
IMG_20191110_110943396.jpgIMG_20191110_110950848.jpg

Both the cloner and mother are loving the Mega Crop nutes.
I'm loving the MC as well. Super easy to weigh out, mix & done.
I may hit 1/4oz per site yet :slide:
IMG_20191110_111026811.jpgIMG_20191110_111036555.jpg

The mother plant is just blowing up with buds
IMG_20191110_110351284_HDR.jpgIMG_20191110_111009425.jpg

I'm stoked and just loving this plant from day one.
