PH down

I would like to find out if using a phosphoric acid can lower my water's pH is okay my water fluctuates between 7.4 and 7.8 and I try to get it down to between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 6 is perfect I've heard that before Spirit acid kills roots but I think it's a 34% solution and I use a half a teaspoon in a gallon of water so I don't think it's going to do anything to my roots or kill beneficial bacteria

Hi @psycho jim and welcome to the forum!
The little bit of phosphoric acid that will be needed to adjust the pH is not going to hurt a thing. The nice thing about phosphoric acid is that when it breaks down its debris is useful to the plant. When I had to worry about pH I used battery acid... sulphuric acid, and it didn't hurt a thing either.

Most of the commercial liquid pH down stuff is dilute phosphoric acid.

my ph down is phosporic im sure, is fine, apple cider vinegar also works well
