I didn't think it would be to bad to turn them on for a little bit. the concequence of NOT turning them on and taking out the captain could have been very bad though.

I still have 3 plants which haven't shown their sex yet. I think I see signs of a female on one of them, however the other two aren't giving any clues yet.
That still leaves a confirmed 8 females and if all goes well potentially 11 total

I'm going to start taking my clones soon.

plants are still growing I should have a photo update today when I feed them.

I found one more male in the bunch and killed him last night. still have one that I'm not sure of so I'm just gonna keep an eye on it.

I'm up to a total of 27 23w 1600 lumens bulbs in various temps from 3k to 6.5k
thats 43,200 total lumens @ 621 watts which seems like too much
I'm probably going to take some of the 6.5k bulbs out since I'm done with veg. girls have been on 12/12 for a little over two weeks now.

all this sounds good - keep the leaves from the males, and try an alcohol extraction if you are feeling adventurous. look here: Extractions with Alcohol

I wouldn't be sad if Edward was a dude. its the largest of all the plants by a good bit and it would mean more lumens for the others.

Yeah, I would say that it's very likely Edward is just a tad bit behind because of the stress. Plants looking beautiful and green!

my plan is to take clones off all the females and keep the garden going year round.
I just haven't figured out when the best time to take them is... or really I haven't looked into it yet.

I killed edward this afternoon. it does hurt to kill them especially when you've watched it grow from a little seed.
I wish I would have known from the start he was going to be a he. I wouldn't have wasted all that wattage on him.
guess feminized seeds really are worth the extra money. oh well, hopefully I won't have to procure seeds for a while and all my plants will remain girls.

finally ordered an exhaust setup.
Have the fan on its way and just need to build an active carbon filter. Does anyone have a good how to for building an active carbon filter?

I searched all over but didn't see anything with pics. found a post with some very detailed instructions that I couldn't follow

yeah. fem seeds or clones from dispens. are the way to go if you plan on vegging them for a while.
you end up not only wasting Wattage but also soil,nutes,and pretty much yield.

i too would like to see a Filter instruction with pics seeing as i plan to flower soon.

i switched to 12/12 18 days ago. guess its time to look into cloning

I'm undecided how many clones to take an of which plants. I'd guess the two best looking are gavin and nate.
