Hello Folks,

So this is my first time ever attempting a grow I've got some photo's of my gear. I'm going to be attempting a hydro DWC grow using grow cubes.

The tent is aprox 4x4x6.5 feet

I've got 2 DP Think Different autoflower seeds to work with as well as 1 blimburn auto northern lights and 1 blimburn CR+ autoflower (Critical Mass +)???

I'll be doing the two TD's first using the Advanced Nutrients line

So without further audeau let's get to some pictures (I hope)

So that's what I have so far and I'm hoping I can make a go of the grow. I'll probably be dropping the seeds to germinate within the next couple of days. I'll be germinating using the paper towel method then transplanting to 1" rockwool cubes. I've read the tap roots on TD auto's are supposed to be very aggressive with growth so I hope that turns out to be true.

I've been reading up on the cap'n style of growing with rockwool cubes and a live environment so that's the road I've chosen. I'm sure I'll be asking all manner of questions in here so please feel free to drop by and comment as the grow progresses.

so a bit of an update. I won't be able to drop seeds for another 10 days since we'll have delivery people in the house in that very room

c'est la vie

So it occurred to me today that I have an 8.5x9.5x8.0 ft room that's being used currently as a "cat room" I figure once I get a couple of grows under my belt in the tent I may just go ahead and convert the free room. Will need more light and more everything else but...cross that bridge when I come to it..

watcha think?

So I finally dropped my 2 think different seeds last night. I used distilled water ph'ed to 6.0 and 2-3 ml of voodoo juice and 2 drops of superthrive. The superthrive slammed my ph down to like 4.5 so I had to add some up to it. I soaked a paper towel dumped the seeds on it then shoved it in a ziploc bag and onto a heating mat. Temps are fluctuating between 77-83 and still have 8 hrs to go before initial check for taproots.

Still wondering if auto seeds are supposed to be tiny.

seed and paper towel porn for those that want it

So after waiting 24 hrs to check on my seeds I have tap roots!! :cheer:

So I went about setting up my grow area and prepping my rockwool cubes and medium.

I PH'ed my water to 6.0 and added some B52, Voodoo Juice, Carbo load, Rhino Skin, and some CalMag since I'm using distilled water PPM are about 180. Then I added my rockwool and let it soak for aprox an hour. Once I came back I saw that the PH was holding steady at 6.0 and the PPM was still holding steady at 180. So time to transplant some seeds into a couple of 1" cubes

which I then buried in my pots.

I've got some CFL's sitting on them until they sprout after which point I'll start the 400watt MH on them

Zipped the tent back up after it's all said and done and my temps are...

and climbing a bit.

So far so good I hope

On a side note I buried the seeds in the 1" cubes very shallow since I hear that TD's taproot is supposed to be extremely vigorous I assume they will burrow down quickly until they hit the res.

Hope I didn't screw anything up.

So checked on them aprox 12 hrs later nothing to really report temps are holding steady around 70ish degrees I rinsed the pots with a cup of water each from the buckets to keep the seeds moist.

hiya looks like you got it going on real nice
take it easy on nutes for a while, nature provides for them as tiny babies
i have some female seeds that are tiny, two strains from the same vendor
the plants grew like miniatures as well,it was weird but turned out some nice results...just small
anyway i am subbed and look forward to your further adventures
take care and good luck

good looking setup

yuyo is correct on the nutrient's , start slow, but also keep in mind, there is nothing in the rockwool,at that stage(seed, seedling) I hand water, and start in smaller baskets

im also a capn method follower, the mans got game

Yeah from what I'm reading the Capn definitely has it together which is why I'm pursuing his methods.

I agree on the nutes which is why I've only put in things that will help the root mass explode except for the Rhino Skin but I figure starting something that will make the plant stronger as early as possible can't be a bad thing. I've been keeping an eye on my PH and PPM in both buckets and so far the PH likes to climb to around 6.4 or so so I'm having to add a few drops of PH down every once in a while. PPM's are holding steady in each bucket at around 45-50. I water with a cup of solution from the bucket when I check the PH so 2-3 times a day unless the starter block is still damp. CFL's are on 24/7 at this point.

Since they are autoflowers from what I've read it's advisable to start them in the buckets they will finish up in since you don't want to shock them with transplanting with such a short lifespan.

Welcome aboard to the both of you glad to have you along

Well after an evening of anxiety wondering if I killed my plants before they had a chance to shine I now have signs of life :thumb:

I thought I might have had some damping off going on but when I looked this morning it turns out that what I thought was rot was actually just an inner piece of shell which I tweezed off. The other plant looked to be caught on some rockwool so I gently tweezed the starting leaves up over the edge so now just waiting on the lights and gravity to do the rest. I'll have pictures up once I've had my morning coffee and woken up. Sucks not having any smoke and 2 months seems a long way off :(

babies :circle-of-love:

looking good

aye 2 months is forever when you are dry but in the end its magical

isn't that the truth
