4x4 tent questions

The wife said I could buy a tent, so im purchasing a 4x4 tent kit that comes with all the bells and whistles but now I've got to decide on soil or H2o,pros and cons?? Any help will be apreceated.

Have you grown cannabis before? Not to say either can't be done your first grow, but most will recommend soil for your first go around.

The most argued pro of soil is the taste of the end result. Most claim you get more of the original flavor out of soil, the more organic the better.

For hydroponics the biggest pro is yield. Plants simply grow faster in hydroponics (if done right). Folks will argue the flavor is not quite the same.

Hydroponics takes more of your time as you must check res ph, ppm, change res once or twice a week, etc. Soil can be left alone for a couple of days as long as the plants have enough water.

I guess, in my opinion it all comes down to how you would like to grow. They both require the same lighting, ventilation, nutrients, and so on.

If you don't mind hauling in and mixing some bags of soil, and you want a fairly easy way to grow. Soil might be your best bet.

If you really like to be hands on with things, and are willing to put in the time and effort. Hydroponics would be the way to go.

Cost could be another factor. Hydroponics is more expensive than soil.

yarddog is right , the flavor is not the same. there is and always will be for the most part a chem afterburn , its the one thing that makes ya double gasp for air after ya blow it out. however, soil and soilless are likely to be more flavorful and ez. yardog is right hydro does grow faster, the plant eats shits and aspirates much faster the soil or soilless, base on availabiltiy of of all components. but we want u to succed so... get yourself some sunshine 4 and some pureblend pro soil formula with the esential components karma, cal mag, sweeet , etc. i assume your goin to use your citys tap water so begin with half strentgh as to what the dirctions say," cut in half" water in your base food 1st then add your components . do your self a favor and get a ph pen keep it all at 6.2 and u will get there. they will try to sale you some ocean forset faox farm soil with so called food already in it,its a waste of time / they make more of that sale then the sunshine4 mix, the up sale on a cube of sun shine is barley 12 bucks as to where ocean forest is 20, lol.. the botanicare line of food is premium withiut the infalted costs like the sponsored brands such as advanced nutrients and canna andhouse and garden and swuisse. u will finf in time that there is a million ways to do it but simple is the best. if a product seems over sold it probably is... good luck my brother, hope to see some photos soon.... send em,lol..

Congrats on winning half battle . Purchased my 4x4 tent and 400watt mh/hps light ,my ole lady was skeptical at first but now you look in my tentand you want roll and woller like an old dog .lol ,i use pro-mix and love to use it like it so much went to buy a new bag. They was closed so i had to buy ffof ,dont like it i have my feeding schedule set. And ffof suppose to be the bomb give me pro-mix and botanicare . For hydro im scared to attempt it but i can see the challenge in hydro .my advice go soil .imo

The wife said i could get a tent, just didn't say WHEN!!!For X-mas she gave me a pair of overalls, Jeorge Cervantes's Marijuana Horticulture the Indoor/Outdoor Medical Growers Bible, and a CO2 regulator, then the Jeep needed brakes, the Buell needed a tune-up,the cat got sick,Anyway after some time surfing online I found a tent I like at Growace.com called the Specialist, comes with 4x4x6 tent, 600W MH,HPS digital ballast, BLA,BLA.
So i guess for now I'm asking if any one has delt with folks before?They ran a 50% off sale on Black Monday and I got the e-mail too late or I would have gotten two!!I got a feeling the same sale might run on April 20th soI'm saving up.

I love the Pro-Mix All Purpose Mix myself . I add 1/3 perlite to the promix tho so the roots can breathe a bit better & theres a good run off every time I water .
I'm currently flowering in a 4'x4'x72" with two 400 watt air cooled hoods . As 1 400 wasn't cutting it . A 1000 would be the ticket in my opinion .
Enjoy the upgrades tho ! Tents make life simple all around

LOL yeah my 400 was not cutting it moved up to 1000. And man my product has doubled
