5 leaf or 7 leaf

Pistils (hairs) = female. Pollen sacs (little football lookin' things) = male

I believe that's the only sure-fire way to tell them apart.

Ya, I still to this day don't understand why the leaf counts change.

For example, I have a slightly runty lady now that got deficient on something when she was first cloned, and now she mostly grows 3 leaves.

Why? No clue. But I think there is at least some relation between number of leaves and health, at least within clones from the same mom, because her sisters don't do that.

Of course, genetics dictate that sativas will, generally, end up with the higher leaf counts as mentioned, sometimes exceeding 11, which is a lot.

Ah, the mysteries of cannabis... what fun! :cheer:

no i think thats all talk. plants get deformed leaves, sometimes is just doesn't come the we always see it. i have plants that are female and male with 1-7 leaves maybe more... male and female are sexed not determined by leaf.

Wonder if it related to how much growth hormone your plant is generating?

Sick plants start to lose finger count and can even make it to single leaves when they are just as unhappy as they can be but still growing. Leave size is a good indicator too. I have seen giant underfed unused mothers covered in tons of tiny 3 finger leaves.

:peace: all
