5000k bulbs enough?

hi guys so one of my t5 ho 6500k bulbs just blew up. I was refunded the money for it so its not a biggy.

However I was looking at buying a nice bulk pack of t5 54watt 6500k or 6400k bulbs for cheap. Best I can find is some 40 packs of 6500k bulbs for about 130 bucks from 1000bulbs. However I can get a 40 pack of 5000k bulbs for just 80 bucks. from same company.

Do 5000k bulbs cut it for veg or will I be disappointed?

Does anyone know a place that sells boxes of 20-40 bulbs of 6500k that comes out to less then 3 bucks a bulb?

5000k (yellow/green spectrum) cfls don't nearly put out the corrrect spectrum of light.


Stick with the 6500k/6400k (blue spectrum) for better results.

Unfortunaly not jimmy, i'm not to familar with american companys as i'm from another part of the world... how ever i shall investigate the bulk buying of bulbs & see what i can come up with.


P.s shipping of bulbs is... so, so please allow for breakages, some companys don't ;ike shipping long distance due to this.
