A note about RLS

I've had RLS a long time. I work with a neurologist in Boston to treat my Sleep Apnea. He told me RLS can be made worse if a person has an iron deficiency. He told me the ferretin level he wants to see me at is over 200. Most doctors do not consider this. They consider a "normal" iron level to be far below 200. When my symptoms of RLS start to return, I go right to the doctor for blood work. If I need iron, I get a Dextran infusion. I do not take iron pills. The infusion usually helps for about 6 months.

Here are the blood tests my doctor orders: Iron, TIBC, ferritin
