Advice for DIY COB?

Can you pm me some links to more of this stuff? I guess this diy game is all the same like building an high end pc. After you installed the first couple of games and everything is working properly there is the next bigger and better rig, even if you buy the best stuff every year. :) going for the bigger CLU058 1825 for 51 bucks each at my location might not be as good as a couple of CLU048 1818 for 19. Guessing

The 1818 are good chips. You can put more of them there at lesser wattage. Like +1 to each row. Easier to cool. More of this stuff is on the RIU forums. And Growmau5 has many videos about it. He works with CREE CXB 3590 but you see it is very similar to 1818. Good chip. I will PM you some threads tomorrow morning now I'm sleepy. Good night! :love: :Namaste:
 
I guess for the Flowering Part i will go for 27x CLU048-1212 mixed somewhere between 2700K and 4000K dimmed to 40 Watts each powered by some 200W Meanwell HLG185C1050B with a total power draw of 1080W and, referring to the chart, over 3580umols per m2 at 12 inches. Is this correct? So i have to hang them at 24 for ~1800 AND have to dim them even below the 40W mark?

Efficacy is somewhere at 8,3umol per Watt at 40W.

So (8,3x40W x27)/2,5 is the PPFD/m2@12 inches = 3585umol/m2?seriously? Can someone confirm this?

I guess i would go for 9 rows x 3 lights for flowering and 5 rows x 3 lights for vegging IF i can find the 5000 to 6500K Lights.
 
I just ordered 5x CLU048 1212 3000K 80Cri for 47euro and watch how they perform. I will use them with one Mars 2 Driver at 685mA each which equals 29 watts per chip. I start vegging with 200W from a Mars 2 and 2 Vero 29.7 3500k at 68Watts, Slowly raise it to 136COB Watts and then add the CLUs on flower. So a total COB Wattage of 281+200 watts from Mars 2 for flower on a 2x3. Maybe a bit Overkill
