Looking for a second opinion!
Week 9 in flower, while my Jack Herer, Devils crack and Candy jack still have time I think my Acapulco Gold is done. I am seeing all milky but no amber, should I still wait? The last couple of nights have dropped to -2 (they are in a green1) and this morning a spotted powdery mildew on 2 leaves.

Covering the plants has been used by a lot of gardeners to keep frost from forming on the plants. Since these plants have already survived a couple of nights of -2 C (29F) the thing to watch for is a hard frost or hard freeze where the temp drops closer to -4C or 25F. At that point the stems start to freeze overnight and that seems to be the killer.

Several years ago I followed the frost warnings for my area and posted msgs about what happened and included photos. These plants are reasonably cold hardy and will tolerate mild frost and light snow.

One saving point about the frost is that it will start to kill off mildew and that slows down how fast any surviving patches can spread.
