Extracting for baking

I am very new to this and have a few questions hope this is the right place to ask them. I am going through some cancer treatments and they have some quite nasty side effects. A friend of mine introduced me to smoking a few months ago and it helped some but not the way I really needed. I'm not real interested in having a buzz per say I just don't want to be spending all my time out of the hospital feeling like I am ready to vomit. So I want to try making some eatables and see if that has more affect for me.

My questions are:

Is it the fat in the butter that is binding with the THC? If so would higher fat content make for better extraction?

How is it being extracted if you use a tea?

I love to use a stove top Italian espresso maker. the steam is the key to great pot tea.

As for butter, not sure about higher fat content being better. the difference might not be noticeable. People also have great luck using cooking oil too.
