I'm new to these forums but I've seen several people make grow journals so I decided o make my own. This will be by first grow, and it is with 3 nirvana freebie seeds.
I'm growing in my attic.
I have 3 60w white LED's for now, just until my new LED grow light comes in.
Due to stealth issues, I do not have a grow tent, and am using a tarp to keep it mostly covered instead. I have one small electric heater running 24/7 to keep the plants at a consistent 70-75 degrees.
I am using miracle grow potting mix (I know a lot of people hate it but I'm using what I have) and on only one of the plants, I mixed some Coco coir at about 60% Coco 40% MG.
It has been 13 days since I planted the first seed, and the day after that, I planted 2 more seeds. (Seed #1 was planted on 11/28/16 and seeds #2 and #3 were planted 11/29/16)
I planted directly into soil.
Seeds #1 and #2 sprouted 6 days after being planted (December 4), and seed #3 did not sprout, which worried me. I dug up seed #3 and it wasn't even close to sprouting, so I put it between 2 plates and used the paper towel method, keeping it moist for the next 3 days, where it finally grew a taproot, 8 days after being planted originally. I planted it with my other plants, and fast forward to today, where seed #3 sprouted.
I have been using a 24/7 light cycle. Today is the 13th day and my first two plants seem to be doing well. I am a bit concerned about them though, since they seem to be very stretched. I've seen pictures of other grows at this point, and it seems like my plants are behind where they should be. They both only have 2 actual leaves (not including the cotyledons) and plant #2 has a very small start of the next set of leaves.
I moved the lights much closer (~4-5 inches) but I'm not sure if that will fix it.
Any suggestions would be great, I'll keep the thread updated as I go!
