An estimated £60,000 worth of suspected cannabis resin and £10,000 in cash has been uncovered and seized in an operation by the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Divisional Intelligence Unit. At around 5:50pm yesterday afternoon (19/05), officers forced entry to an address in the Chickenley area. Also seized from the premises were weighing scales and sim cards for mobile phones. No one was found to be at the address and enquiries are currently ongoing.

Sergeant Steve Forrest of the Dewsbury and Mirfield Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "This has been a co-ordinated effort between the local Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Divisional Intelligence Unit during a week when we are specifically looking at drugs which can be damaging to communities. This is a positive start to National Drugs Week in Kirklees and has been an excellent result for the community and for the Neighbourhood Policing Team. The investigation process starts now and we will be following up all lines of enquiry. Any one with any information in regards to drug dealing or drug related crime in their community is urged to contact Dob in Dealer on 0800 555 111 or your local NPT team."
