help with a veg light

OK so I have been growing under a 600w hps and its been doing great. I have now decided to make a veg room. I have about $500 to spend on the light and the veg room is going to be 4x4x6. I have been thinking about LED's and T5's. I am trying to keep the consumed wattage around 400 or less and I have no clue on which one to go with.

i reckon a couple of LED grow panels would defently be the go thats what id be doing.

Go with LED all the way. You will save money every month when electric bill comes around and the plants will grow out standing. The light spectrum can not be matched.

for veg, a few CFLs would be great; put one 30w+ (real wattage) bulb above each seedling and you'll be good for at least 3 weeks before you need to add another

If you're vegging I feel T5's are under-rated, we've had some really nice results with T5's. Something like this would be a pretty good option, if you didn't get an LED: LuxStar8 4' T5 Fluorescent Light (Grow Bulbs) - Perfect Gardens
