How much should I defoil before harvest?

I always defoliate about 2-3 days before harvest along with no water and darkness. Just makes it easier to chop and hang.
That's just me though. Anybody else?

I agree with Pontiacman. Pluck away. Save you time at harvest, and possible benefit to lower sites. I like the darkness period also, if possible.

I dont really do it. I like having the protection and slowing down of drying.
I like to dry slow. But that's me... I like to do things cheap.
You can dry slow and trim ahead with a nice drying environment that allows you to take 2 weeks at least...IMO.
But I also wait until the flowers eat most of the leaves.
There is no right way.

The funny thing about growing weed is, ya get stuck in your own ways after so long off what ever, did that really work for me or was stoned & believed !
Some classical stoner literature might suggest defoliation aprox 2 weeks before harvest or about the start of the beginning week of flushing etc
That in some form of 2nd hand history event might suggest the plant may put on its final mass/weight in that period so why the heck are starving it ? never worked it out To Be Honest.
But suggest heavy nutrient feeding may lead to a harsh/bad taste in the final smoked product, hence we might do this ?
