HPS Light Issues / Supplies? how much? Under 50?

Where can I buy a hps light and the socket it goes in?
Is that possible?

I'm making my own reflective hood so I don't want to buy the ones that come all together (too expensive)
I would like to build my own. Can some please help me.

My grow box is only 5x2x2. All I want is the light and what I need to make it turn on. I will make my on hood.

You can buy the socket at your local hardware store. You will also need a ballast that you can buy from a number of retailers or sponsors of this site.
