Need help with grow room please.

I'm new to this, thanks in advance for any help
Here is my problem
I bought a tent and all equipment needed but...
I have kids, 12 and 17. I have a room in the house I can set up in, but am nervous about noise and curious kids. I have a 900sf garage I can use but it is unheated and where I live temps can go to single digits.
I don't want to heat the whole garage. thought about framing in a room to put the tent in and heating that but am not sure.
any suggestions?

With kids in the house I would put it in the garage. All they'd have to do is blurt it to the wrong person and it could cause trouble. Just sheet in an area and put one of the small, oil filled heaters in the room. I use one in an 8X8 room and it works excellent for keeping the heat up.

What kind of lights are you using, HPS/MH puts out a good amount of heat so heating while the lights are on may not be a big problem but in 12/12 when there off your going to want a small space heater. Hows the temps in the warmer months as well?

I have a 1000 watt mh/hps light
temps range in summer 80-90 sometimes high 90s
thought about putting heater in room but with fan wouldn't it not have a chance to heat since it could be drawing air that is below freezing.
also between lights, fan, pump etc not sure how much electric bill will go up.
can I not use fan in winter and keep this buttoned up?
