Need some advice

my problem is : how much light a 3 days old seed needs
i used CFL lights
20/4 ?
18/6 ?
i put them in water and some of them cracked .finally i dig a small hole 1cm .
how much light do they need until the vegetative stage became start ?

I run mine all day from seed.

24-0 is fine for very young seedlings. I run the light 24 hours till they have all emerged from the soil and are about 3-4 days old. Then it is 18-6 for veg.

I used 24-0 till they all broke the soil, then switched to 12, 5.5, 1, 5.5

I use a 125w giant cfl 6400k on 16/8 but only once they have sprouted !

Seeds don't require light to germinate ya just need to switch the lights on once they've sprouted to prevent stretch etc


But what ever method you choose will be fine doesn't make much difference to be honest...
