Outdoor use of netting?

I am working an outdoor medical Op., it contains my 6 and another 6 I am doing w/a fellow card holder.
I would prefer those w/experience using netting vs LST to answer.
I am using LST on mine, so they are tied down; my friend wants to let his grow tall and not tie down. He wants to use netting set at 2 layers for the plants to grow up though so when the buds get heavy they won't break the plants.
I am thinking that since I am tying mine down, I won't need to use the netting... since I don't have any experience either w/netting or TSL, I pose the question.
If I am tying down, do I or do I not need to use the netting to prevent breakage. If not the netting... what have you all used to prevent plants breaking when tied down?

You can always use bamboo sticks in the ground (or any wooden/metal rod) and tie the upward growth to the stakes. Shouldnt be too hard to space them between your LST.

Yeah, that sounds like it would work... I guess not too many here have experience w/netting vs LST... oh well!

I prefer the bamboo stakes like the previous poster said for outside plants. Sometimes I need to use three or four per plant. Tomato trellis will also work for small to medium sized plants.
