I have a good RO filter for my tap water. any all instruacitons for stuff say to ph balence RO water for flushing...or for when feeding.

then i read some places that you CANT take the ph of RO water.

here i my issue. i have 2 VERY good meters, one handheld and one that is a constant 24/7 meter (nutradrip) it does PPM Temp and PH all day.

if i place either the hand held of the 24/7 on in my ph 4 test solution they both show 4. if i place them in ph 7 they show ~7.

but for example now my res is at 3.4 on the nutrdrip buy my hand held says 6.4.

what do i DO?? i cant have the rest way off on PH right?
thanks

I have heard that magnetically driven pumps can have an effect on pH meters. Try moving the probe away from the pump as far as you can and see if there is a change. Or scoop a cup of your res out and measure outside of the res and see if there is a diff. If so then you have an issue with grounding or the magnets are throwing you off.
