R.I. - Police have identified the man killed in a deadly shooting inside a medical marijuana house.

The intruder-turned-victim has been identified as Alex Delasnueces, 26, of Hamilton Street in Providence.

Police say Delasnueces walked into the Chalkstone Avenue house armed with a pellet gun around 10:30 on Thursday morning. The second floor resident told police the suspect tried to rob him, and that's when he shot at him .

Delasnueces was shot once in the chest and later died at Rhode Island Hospital.

"We just saw one guy leave in an ambulance. A black male, they were pumping out his chest," said an eyewitness.

Police said the man from the second floor, who admitted firing the gun, showed them two different medical marijuana cards, but police still have many questions.

"How many medical marijuana plants he was entitled to have in that residence, and if all of the documentation is in order to conduct and grow here," said Providence Police Commander Paul Kennedy.

Police are still investigating whether the shooting was in self defense.

alarming news, and of course it just goes to show you that legal or not you just don't talk about your grows to anyone. if you're licensed to grow and provide for any patients insist on meeting them @ their residence or a semi-public place, walk to that location so that your car license plate doesn't give you away either.

this is one reason why 100% legalization must take place across the country and world, decriminalize the drug & instantly diminish the criminal element.
