Should I start keeping my light further away?

My plants have been in veg for 2and a half weeks. I invested in some good fluorescent lights and just topped them 2 days ago.
I was wondering if i should pull back the light and let them strech a bit or keep em as bushy as i can?
17.5sq/feet for 4 plants
Im also planning on scroging. Just built my screen.
I need to figure out how to upload photos..

Thats my 3rd grow. My first one was pretty good but with very little yield, the second one i did any mistake i could have done and just failed miserably. Now i have invested decent amount of cash to make it happen.
