Slow seedlings

Hey I'm not sure if it's just me with higher expectations but my seedlings seem to be growing slow. Iv compeared them to other seedlings the same age and they seem to be falling behind. Iv got them in rockwool under 100w of cfls. I'm wondering if they need nutrition as they are in rockwool not soil.

At that size, they probably don't need much in the way of nutes. If anything, start very VERY weak on the PPMs and make sure your ph is balanced. They look pretty good from what I can see in your pic. Maybe try some reflectors over your CFLs to get more light concentrated on them.

I say just be patient, they'll tell you when they're hungry.

Thank you for the reply guys, I think I'll just be patient for a week and then see how they are doing. Iv got some spare reflector sheets left over so I might throw a few up where I can.

If you can move your lights closer, that would help as well. When I have seedlings I keep my lights 1-2" / 2.5-5cm away from the leaves.

You will need to increase your wattage later also, 100w would be barely adequate to flower 1 plant, much less 9 plants.

Thanx man.. I'll raise the tray now, I'm just scared I'll come home from work and they will be burnt. I'll have a total of 3 plants once I choose the healthiest, Iv got 2 125w cfls to add once I put them into my cabinet and system.

Just check on the plants in the morning and night and keep the lights 2.5-5cm away at all times. If you see plants growing faster, then use a little more distance when you are away.
