super fast growing technique question

so my roommates and I decided to give growing a try. We have friends who also do it and weve just been following their instructions. But I was on the grow journal part of the forums (which Is an awesome idea, really) and I came across this video

we think that this general approach is awesome. and so our main question is What strains would this work with cause the video doesnt say at all. Do/could most strains work this way? any input would be appreciated

The grow method is called sog(sea of green). Some might say it's scrog(screen of green) but the screen look to be just for bud support. Some strains work better then others but you can use any of your fav's.
