SWAT Team Operation Yields Marijuana

Five people were arrested during the execution of a search warrant in Marshall on Saturday, Nov. 18.

At about 10 p.m., officers of the Marshall Police Department, assisted by members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A SWAT team, executed the search at a residence in the 900 block of N. Lincoln in Marshall, police said.

Officers found a felony amount of marijuana, police said. Also in the home were two young children.

The five adults arrested were:

-- Tia M. Thomas, 27, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and endangering the welfare of child.

-- Brent A. Hopkins, 28, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and endangering the welfare of a child.

-- Amanda R. Thomas, 22, for endangering the welfare of a child.

-- Michael L. Winston, 28, for endangering the welfare of a child.

-- Realie D. Franklin, 23, for endangering the welfare of a child.

The Marshall Police Department continues to investigate the case.

Charges are being sought from the Saline County Prosecutor's Office.

No further details of the investigation are being released at this time as this is an ongoing investigation, police said Monday, Nov. 20.
