Tomato cages also work great if your plant gets too floppy.
I like that idea. I have not used a cage yet but I would love to try it. Plus, I can see how it would help spreading a plant or opening it up.

I love it also. Wish i put one in earlier. Since they’re so big it’s going to be an issuer getting it in the pot at this point. Im going to make my own cage with string and bamboo

I cut my cages open down one side with tin snips, so I could open them up and place them around the plants from the side - as opposed to trying to cram them down from above. If you understand what I mean :)

I like tomatoe cages myself, never thought of cutting down one where I could open them up and place around a plant. Nice idea Weaselcracker

They’re a bit of a pain in the ass for moving around, after being cut open like that- they catch on everything if you have to move the plants around, especially among other such cages. So I bent the protruding cut wire into loops and tied pipe cleaners (or whatever) to the loops to close the gaps and avoid having them catch on stuff.
Or, if your plant isn’t too large, you can (obviously) just twist the existing wires back together again.
