Too soon for 12/12?

I have a plant just over 3 weeks old,on Monday it'll be 4 weeks,just wondering if its too soon for the 12/12 cycle?? also any comments or tips are greatly appreciated,its my first grow so be gentle. lol

Hi Saxxon413,

No, it is not too early to flip the lighting to 12/12. There are some growers that utilize 12/12 from the very start. It all depends on how big you want the plant to get when finished. A plant will typically double or even triple in size during the budding period.

hey thanks TanR,any other info or tips you can bestow upon me today?? can you tell at all as to how long it would be before i could tell the sex? also,if its a hermi what would show first,pistills or pollen sacks?

Hey there! THings are looking pretty good so far. Plants won't usually show their sex until around the 8th week of growth when growing from seed. You only want females, unless of course you are trying to get seeds, so you only want the plants the show that show white pistils. Therefore, if the plant is a hermie, you will see the white pistils first because if it had shown pollen sacks you would have already gotten rid of it thinking it was a male. If you turn to 12/12 now, the plant should show it's sex within 1-2 weeks.
