Too stiff to LST ?

I have 2 week old plants that I've fed well and kept a good fan on. Now that I think it's time to train they seem too stiff. I could still probably bend them over but should I stick to topping? Advice requested

When ever i try to train a plant, i can only tie off to the pot they are in. So i at least have to wait until their top reaches the pot edge when bent over. I predominantly work with Sativa Dominant genes and they sprout up quick. When a person has a great Indica going full steam with strong lights, i never see them get big enough to tie over for quite some time.

When i do get to tie my plants over, i don't need to do it all at once. Sometimes branches are stiffer than planned on. I tie them over about half of what i want then the following day i finish off the bend after the plant has had time to equalize itself. It's a process over time and doesn't happen at once. :) ...at least for myself.
