Trimming big fan leaves

I am growing a couple Blue Mammoth autos that are about 6 weeks old and starting to get buds on them. Should I trim the big single fan leaves that grow from the main stalk? My thinking is that by removing them, the energy they suck up would go to the buds.

The topic of defoliation is a little controversial so to say. It is a matter of preference. But personally I say to leave them, because the plant will eventually kill them herself, to use the energy into making huge delicious buds. It might also backfire, and she will use more energy to regrow some big fan leafs back.
There are great points pro and con, so it all comes to what you want to do.

Take a few and you'll be fine, take too many and you'll see growth reduced. When you consider that leaves are where are majority of the photosynthesis machinery is located, it's obvious why.
