What is the best way to trim your bud?

I was wondering when do you trim the buds? Should I do it rite after taking it off the plant or after it has dried. Also how much should I trim? If someone has pictures that would be great.

Opinions vary on this but I find my plants easiest to trim if I do it as soon as they are chopped.

Ive chopped about a 100 plants in my growing...Ive tried several ways of trimming and pretty much have it down. For me anyway...always remove the leaves right away..clears up alot of space. Usually my plants are so top heavy that they wont stand up for me to pluck. I hang them up from string and throw a tarp under them and just start plucking. Large first, smaller next and use a trimmer for the colas. good sharp ones.
dont get too hung up on one indicidual cola or bud. those trim leaves have major THC on them and they will curl in as they dry. When I grew 8 plants my 1st time I was excited..no that I do 20 plus it has become a driggin pain but its a labor of love

also how far down on the plant do you cut to take your buds off?
