What's a good excuse/reason for being in a man-made pine forest area?

You should write to the lumber company and see about getting permission to be there first. Most will offer you a contract that absolves them of any responsibility for you getting hurt, sometimes it might cost a bit like 10 bucks.

I have decided against growing in the pine forest because my vehicle is too suspect looking for the area. I'm going back to look at hiking trials again because parking near a hiking trial doesn't look suspicious, it just looks like somebody doing some hiking.

Yeah dude. Maybe stick to the spare bedroom or closet maybe backyard. You aren’t even going to want to deal with watering outdoor trees with a bucket of water. A 5 gal bucket is good for what? 4-10 smaller plants or 1-3 big ones. You want to set up pump in a creek Or something. Idk it sounds sketchy bro. I know they sell burlap bags to hide your plants up in trees sounds like a pain tho. Good luck. It’s about to snow to bro bro. Lol

I'm abandoning the pine forest growing idea because yeah it is too sketchy. I'll have a look at some hiking trials.

No good. Don’t want people walking by smelling your plants... maybe a good ways off the trail. You are going to want to build up some good root systems on whatever you put out there. Dig a deep hole and fill it with amended soil. They make special bags Of amendments that you mix with the soil Outdoors. I’d look into that.
