When to harvest?

Here are a couple buds from my plants, they are starting to get a lot of amber trichomes on the sugar leaves but it’s only about week 5 of flowering. Is this normal and if so where should I look at the teichomes to jusdge ripeness?

Careful judging by the leaves, they degrade way faster than the true buds

Ok that’s what I was wondering. This is my first grow so sometimes it’s hard to see where the buds begin and the leaves end. I expected another 3 weeks so I appreciate the confirmation.

I suppose my issue was where to look at the trichomes. If I looked at the sugar leaves I’d cut them down but by looking at the buds I realize they have a ways to go, which I already knew but wasn’t positive on where to look. Thanks for the reference page on ripeness. I have seen it before but it is reassuring for sure. Thank you
