Would this DIY water chiller idea work?

Okay I'm faced with the prospect of having to cook my nutrirnts for the system I want to build but looking at the prices on Amazon, I really don't have the ability to justify the cost of one so I was thinking of something like this:

Using a water pump to pump the warm water to a container full of salt water and water bottles full of ice weighed down to completely or nearly completely submerge in the water. The hose would be coiled a few times before being dumped back into the main res. The container would be insulated and yes I realize I would have to change out the water in the bottles daily but would this be an effective cheap way to make a cooler?

You want hot water in and cold water out? Does it have to be near freezing, how much of a temp change are you trying to overcome? And is it to cool the heated nutes to a plant use able temp.
