Would this light be ok?

Total noob!
Thinking of a first grow and i need a budget light set up.
Would something like this IP54 250W Metal Halide Floodlight on eBay (end time 26-Oct-10 1824 BST)
be ok for one or two plants??
Any help much appreciated.

Just go with CFL's if you're on a budget, and only want two or three plants.

Ok but i can get hold of some floodlights with the e40 type fitting for cheap so would these not work at all? Say something like this 400w High Pressure Sodium with optional dusk to dawn sensor

hi ice cream the answer is yes both lights will be required metal hallide for veg and high pressure sodium for flower....my first grow i used 400 watt mh and 2 x 400 watt hps......all worked well for me i had 10 plants ....... you would have enough light for 4 plants if needed with the 2 your thinking of....go for it is my advice.....and good luck growing.....hope this helps.........be lucky weedtastic

Yes, if that's what you can afford, then ether of those lights will do major justice! Good luck on your grow!
