I also used AN with tap water before getting a RO unit. As long as your PH of your tap water is between 4.5-8.5 your good to go. Also a good idea to take a ppm reading of your water before adding nutrients so you know how much your adding.

Don't quote me on this but do a little research into it. I do believe that you can still use the stuff that looks ok but you need to wash that bud in a hydrogen peroxide and water solution. The high oxygen levels should kill the spores of the bud rot ensuring its safe to use.
