600w Coir Closet

Picked up some neem oil and some yellow sticky pads.

I made a mixture of neem oil and water and sprayed the tops of each container as well as the sides and underneath, as well as the drainage saucers. I did not have unscented dish soap to mix with the neem oil so I will do that for the next treatment. From what I have read, the neem oil is supposed to confuse the fungus gnats and the mature ones will be unable to lay eggs and they will essentially stop eating and die off. Neem oil smells awful btw.

I will do another run with the neem oil spray on monday. I will most likely pick up some Diatomaceous Earth today at HD and sprinkle it on the top. I don't want to cover the entire tops of the containers because I do not want to start bottom feeding.

I think these fungus gnats really like iguana juice :/

:Namaste:

So I went an bought some DE.

Here is the brand I bought Safer® Diatomaceous Earth - Bed Bug Killer & Insect Killer

It is OMRI listed so it is perfect for what I was doing.

I scooped all the loose top soil out of each pot and put it in a trashbag and threw it away... I then sprinkled the DE to cover the surface... I used less than a 1/4" of the DE on top of the soil... if I find it was not enough, I will layer more on after my next feeding and the surface dries a bit.

I cleaned out the runoff saucers and then sprayed the bottoms of the pots and the saucers with the neem oil mixture.

I encountered maybe 12 total gnats throughout the course of removing the top soil, layers the DE and cleaning/re-appling the neem oil to the saucers, so I don't think I have a big issue compared to what I have seen others have.

I'll post some pics soon, they have stretched a lot since the last set of pics!!

I am going to switch to hygrozyme every other watering.

I will start to work down the iguana juice grow for the next 2-3 feedings and work up the IJ bloom.

SLH1 and 2 should be ready for a nice feeding tomorrow when they wake up.

Here are pics, this is day 8 of flower and they have exploded...

I will have pics tmrw of the SLH1 and 2 after feeding.

While the gnats were really never a huge issue, I think the neem and DE have done a good job so far... I will spray down the topsoil of the 3 I just watered tonight, tomorrow with the neem, and then do the same on Tuesday with the SLH1 and 2.

:Namaste:

Sweet.

Just picked up some gnatrol BTI from a diff hydro store I never really go to because they have about 20% markup compared to the other hydro store I usually go to...

I will feed the SLH1 and 2 with the gnatrol tonight, and skip the mycomadness and hyogrozyme.

I will skip the mycomadness for the other 3 (twi2, 3 and ss1) and feed them the gnatrol bti for their next feeding around wed/thurs.

This should solve the gnat issue completely!!

Here is a shot of them in the same order as the last time I got a pic of them.

SS1, TWI3, TWI2... unfortunately only TWI3 is in the same 'rotated position'.

I will try to remember to keep them in the same rotated position so you can get a better idea of their transformation :)

Massive growth!!

:Namaste:

good grow so far congrates on the recovery!

Feed Log:

8/17 Friday - 11pm

12ml calmag
6ml hygrozyme
9ml iguana juice grow
12ml iguana juice bloom
5tsp gnatrol BTi

SLH1 - 1.8L

SLH2 - 2L

I am stopping the use of superthrive and roots excelurator from here on out. I will feed myco madness every other week as well. I will continue with hygrozyme every other feeding.

The SLH got their 2nd dose of gnatrol BTi... I will probably give it to them 1 more time after this as I should be able to catch the gnats in their larvae stage at some point. They are not terrible but they are still around here and there.

The SLH will go about 75 days so I will continue with IJ grow for at least another week.

I upped the calmag a little because they are still showing signs on some of the lower/older leaf growth of calmag deficiency...

Overall though the SLH look fine and it will be exciting to see her fill in.

DAY 13 FLOWER

:Namaste:

8/18 saturday - 730pm

First feeding of Big Bud on Day 14 flower here.

It is a synthetic flower additive but I have read great things, and I think with a proper flush, I can see great benefits from this bloom booster.

I forgot if I put 12ml or 15ml in the 2 gallon mix, the recommended doseage is 16ml per 2 gallon so I am hoping I only put 12ml in there to start :)

2gal water

20ml calmag
11ml liquid carboload
9ml iguana juice grow
21ml iguana juice bloom
12-15ml big bud
6tsp gnatrol BTi

pH 6.5

And SS1

2012-08-18_19-28-50_627.jpg

Now let's talk deficiencies...

Here is the lowest/worst looking growth for TWI3.

2012-08-18_19-36-32_474.jpg

Looks like a little early flowering, but the way that tips/edges die off, just dead and brown, I cannot put my finger on what it exactly is... the edges get brown death spots. I upped them to a advanced feeding of CALMAG and will keep it there... (10ml per gal) The rest of the plant is green and happy.

Here below is some early yellowing on SS1. She is supposed to be a 50-55 day flower so I am hoping she slows down with the yellowing a bit but I think she will be fine, its only the very very bottom foliage and it looks like pure nitrogen def, nothing else it seems.

2012-08-18_19-37-29_425.jpg

Here is TWI2, really this is the only part that looks bad so I think she will be fine. Note how the tip dies off brown like the other TWI.

2012-08-18_19-40-40_225.jpg

Here is SLH1...

now this is slightly different. And this is located near the middle growth.

I upped their calmag last feeding, and will up it again as this appears to be calmag.

2012-08-18_19-47-21_991.jpg

She looks happy overall though

2012-08-18_19-47-44_562.jpg

Very bottom growth of SLH2

2012-08-18_19-50-23_54.jpg

She looks great though otherwise.

2012-08-18_19-51-33_248.jpg

So, just some small issues at the bottom/older growth, clearly they could have used more nitrogen than I was giving... which makes me think this roots excelurator/superthrive combo + using hygrozyme and beneficials has made the root zone efficient at taking in the nutes I have been giving. Really there are little signs of nute burn. I think I could have pushed IJ Grow a little harder in veg. I plan to be a more responsive to what the plant tells me in flower.

Twilight 3

2012-08-30_23-00-27_118.jpg

I have read this strain does not get as resinous as most, both Twilights are a little behind compared to the others in this aspect.

2012-08-30_23-01-33_256.jpg

Both twilights have the biggest buds out of all of them by far.

Here is Twilight 2

2012-08-30_23-07-28_172.jpg

She is definitely a stretchier phenotype... but she wasn't exactly trained the same, and lost a few more secondaries during her veg time.

The buds are just as big as the other twilight though. Real thick pistils compared to the SLH and SS.

2012-08-30_23-23-44_518.jpg

My friend who gifted me these twilight seeds was not kidding when he said they explode in flower.

Here is the bagseed that I never talk about. She doesn't get very much light, but should end up being ok. She is fairly resinous at this point, just tiny flowers.

2012-08-30_23-53-10_854.jpg

I should update with pics of SLH when I feed them tomorrow.

Here are some pics from yesterday, the start of DAY 27 FLOWERING

Here they are right before lights come on

2012-08-31_19-01-22_891.jpg

From a little further back. The light filter I rigged at the bottom works exactly as intended. I can remove it very easily and no light gets through, however air is free to travel.

Here is SLH2 on the left, and SLH1 on the right.

Unfortunately, SLH1 does not get as much light as she deserves. These plants have just overgrown my closet/setup. I am doing the best I can at tucking fan leaves, and rotating them. There is no question I could benefit from a 1000w light, and I'm fairly certain I could keep the temps stable as well. I may decide to upgrade for the next round.

Luckily, the SLH should have an extra 2-3 weeks under the 600w light all by themselves so that is something to look forward to.

So my lights are off from 7am to 7pm...

well I went to open the door 10 mins early today and to my surprise the lights were ON!!

I forgot to switch the timer to the timer function instead of the ON function, so they had 24hrs of light. I am going to act like it never happened, and let them get back on their regular cycle, so they will be getting 36hrs of light on Day 29 FLOWERING.

I hope it doesn't hurt them much!
