600w Coir Closet

lol no worries UG, i know this...

Anyway here are some pics

Twilight 3 before the chop, Day 64.

You can see why I stopped taking them out of the closet... what a mess. Should have gotten some tomato cages for them as they all essentially do this. Definitely lost out on some yield simply because the branches were not properly staked and in optimal position. She was leaning all over the other plants just to stay upright... very glad to have her out of there as she took up the most space, and oddly enough definitely got the smallest footprint of the light.

Rough wet Trimmings/popcorn on left, small nugs on right.

2012-10-07_20-59-10_531.jpg

Popcorn sorted from rough wet trimmings and wet trimmings reduced to the good stuff.

2012-10-07_21-45-00_123.jpg

I will give the buds a finer manicure before I jar them and combine with the popcorn.

I will combine all popcorn from all plants + trimmings and not do anything with them ;)

Smaller Nug

She was at about 95/5 milk/clear. Maybe 90/10...

I am taking the other twilight to some amber and I will be able to compare nicely.

Colas hanging with main fans...

Here is the bagseed plant... surprised I got what I got out of this lol. This thing got almost no light... all indirect. I didn't expect much and of course am thrilled how she turned out. Extremely frosty.

I would say 95/5 milk/clear as well.

Hanging

Here they are hanging around 48 hours after being chopped.

And I then removed the fans

Twilight 2

2012-10-09_19-11-12_219.jpg

I am thinking she gets the axe on Friday or saturday.

Super Skunk 1

2012-10-09_19-11-23_390.jpg

She goes down tomorrow or thursday.

SLH2

2012-10-09_19-12-04_815.jpg

Sometime next week, around day 75 I am thinking.

SLH 1

2012-10-09_19-12-34_920.jpg

Same thing... they need at least 10 day flush.

Twi 2 left, SS1 right

:Namaste:

Wow
That Twilight is packing some serious weight!
Nice work darkpiece, :thumb:
Happy Harvest!!

Thanks Vick...

So an update...

TWI3 has been in jars since 10/11.

2012-10-14_14-51-32_997.jpg

She weighed in at 2.7oz. I was hoping for at least 2 from her so I am pleased.

Here is the Bagseed

2012-10-14_14-53-03_565.jpg

Not much at all... only 9.1 grams, but she was at the very edge of the light's footprint and shaded by all the other plants.

On 10/11 I chopped superskunk, it was DAY 68 FLOWERING for her.

Before chop

2012-10-11_19-22-46_664.jpg

Hah... all over the place much like TWI3.

2012-10-11_19-22-57_576.jpg

After 2 days I stripped the fan leaves...

2012-10-13_18-41-54_7481.jpg

Here are the trimmings/popcorn... lots of it!

2012-10-14_13-51-02_609.jpg

And here are some of the smaller nugs drying

2012-10-13_18-42-51_841.jpg

Here it is hanging before I jarred it this morning.

2012-10-13_18-42-09_718.jpg

Here is a nug of it.

2012-10-14_14-50-18_499.jpg

And all of it jarred

2012-10-14_14-50-26_507.jpg

I will weigh it in a few days but I am expecting around 2-2.5oz... she is definitely denser than TWI3.

Then on 10/13, DAY 70 FLOWERING, I chopped TWI2.

2012-10-13_21-10-37_371.jpg

2012-10-13_21-11-07_834.jpg

Here is 1 rack of it... I ended up with 3 hangers of 4 branches a piece. I stripped fan leaves when I chopped as I want to compare the drying times and the end result of this way, compared to leaving the fan leaves on for a few days after chopping.

2012-10-13_22-11-50_365.jpg

Much more dense than TWI3. She will probably yield the most out of all the plants. Smells like sweet black cherries.

Here are the smaller nugs

2012-10-13_23-17-58_373.jpg

And the trimmings... I still have to go through and pull out the bigger fan leaves with nothing on them, but there is A LOT of popcorn in there, I am going to have a very good amount of trimmings when all said and done with all plants, thats for sure.

2012-10-13_23-18-28_499.jpg

She will be jarred in a few days.

All that is left are the two Super Lemon Hazes... and they look real beaten to death hahah...

I plan on chopping them next Saturday on day 77.

Here is the yield so far...

2012-10-14_15-05-05_373.jpg

I will get a weight on SS1 in the next few days as I let the moisture evaporate a little more.

:Namaste:

Nice work bro!
Wow!

I think my current grow is very similar to the one you're just wrapping up. Although we're both using different nute programs, they're pretty much the same..

I just have a couple questions for ya if that's cool:

-How did you find the stripped fan leafs dried compared to leaving the fan leaves on for a few days after chopping? dry quicker?
-Do you think you're going to use Tomato cages next time to contain those bats? (I'm using them now and they rule..)
-Plan on defoliating more with your next grow?
-Are you using CO2?

Thx Vick

as for your questions... I think the difference was almost negligible... now compared to drying an entire plant that you didn't trim at all vs drying trimmed branches... you can notice the difference.

My main issue with drying was that I did not use a digital humidifier that could keep the area the same humidity 24/7. So I had constant humidity fluctations that I think might have had a negative effect in some cases. Because sometimes it would be at 35 then 4 hours later at 55 then an hour later back down to 40ish...

For my next run I will definitely 100% have a digital humidifer that will keep the humidity as stable as possible... because without a humidifier the humidity is a stable 25ish...

As for cages... absolutely... i am a fan of topping/training and getting multiple colas. I was definitely not prepared for what came and I will not make that mistake again.

I also think I could have done a way better job across the board on trimming up the bottoms as I put them into flower... Lots of smallish stuff that just never amounted to much (although I don't mind that stuff for trimming)... I will be upping my lollipop game for the next time in hopes of getting bigger colas.

I am not using CO2 as I do not have a closed growing environment... I need to do some reading on it to learn if I can benefit from CO2... I know it works but its not viable in some setups so that is something I would like to look into. In reality though, my 45 day veg was clearly a little overboard and I probably ran into some diminishing returns with just how big they got, how they were not staked and lots and lots of colas were covered and/or not receiving much light at all. I think a properly staked grow of 6 plants with a 35ish day veg would have gotten me better results all around.

I am glad this is coming to an end so I can take a nice little break from this.

As for the next run, this is preliminary but at the moment I have lined up clones of:

pre98 bubba kush
blue widow
sour OG
pineapple express

I can get these for sure but who knows maybe something different comes up between now and then. I plan on starting around the 3rd week of november... maybe 1st week of december.

I'll throw some pics up tonight, if not definitely tomorrow.

BTW, I am giving the 2 remaining SLH 36hrs of darkness so their light will turn off tomorrow morning at 7, and then they will die 36 hours later.

:Namaste:

A digital humidifier definitely sounds like a good idea. I'm probably going to get one to aid slow drying this next crop. I had a rather low RH during last dry which resulted in buds drying a bit faster than I wanted. I want to stretch it out a bit this time. With a longer cure (1 month) should produce some nice smoke. Gotta get some of those humidity packs!!
I can't say enough about how much these tomato cages help in containing everything. Combining anchoring the buds to the cage, and staking in the middle, with defoliation, you can get creative and grid your buds out however you want to get good light penetration. There is no limit to tie down sites.
Yeah CO2 really does need a lot of things to be just right, in order to make it worth while. But if you can produce buds like that without it? Then why bother!?
Those 2 remaining SLH's are going to love their long nap before they meet their demise. They'll look like they put every piece of sparkly jewelery on just for their funeral.

Have a nice break!
enjoy the lovely fruits of your labor!

I should be harvesting this batch right around when you are starting up again.
Drop by and see if I can get my buds as big as yours! wiw
