Welp, I've gone 7 months... give or take a month without growing any plants and I hope this will help get me outta the funk these anti seizure meds cause. Ok, the seeds are from my last grow that hermied on me last summer. it was brutal to try an grow without AC or a dehumidifier. 24 hrs in a cup of water an they popped open(pictures to come) dropped em into cereal cups of Coast of Maine Stonington blend soil.

The CFL is 6500k 14 actual watts, is on a 16 hr on 8 off light schedule. the styrofoam 5 gal bucket cooler makes a great incubator. The bulbs is about 6" above the cups, anyone have opinion on the height... 2 high? 2 low. Sorry if I'm rambling. In the past I've had troubles with the seed caseing not wanting to come off. Set the seed about an inch in the soil in hopes that having to push threw that much soil will help

Sorry it's a 32 watt bulb

W3re they true hermies, i.e. both male a female flowers in roughly equal proportions from early on, or just a few male flowers late? And were the male flowers true groups of balls or more random bananas?

If the plants were true hermies that trait will likely pass to the offspring. If, on the other hand, you just had a few nanners late in flower that could just be environment related or sometimes they do that really late in flower to try to get pollen to the stigmas in a desperate last attempt to produce seeds.

I know it can be tricky growing Hermie's. In the past I would mix some hermi pollen on a female plant and if I was carefully the seed it produced would be fine. But these seed could go either way. The parent plant didn't produce actual manners that hang down and spread pollen the pollen sacs grew inside the bud. But the last month that plant was on flower was brutally hot an humid an I had no AC or dehumidifier . I'm hoping that if I can get an early enough start this year I can have more control of environmental conditions during flowering. veg cycle may be dry and cold at times but they can take the abuse better in veg

Welp, I have 1 seedling above ground ! woohoo! well b4 I get too excited... I've noticed the seed caseing has stuck on one half of the lil pod leaves. This has been happening to me all the time the past however many years. I thought it was old seeds, but these seeds are only 6 months old. I usually give a day or 2and if it don't wanna come off on it's own I intervene and try and gently remove it. but that can cause damage. and with such a small plant it can kill it or serverly stunt her. as always, any advice, little tricks, wise wisdom is greatly appreciated

Ok, so both seedlings are above ground an looking ok. Now to decide on lights I could keep em under CFL's or set up my LED light. gawd just thinking about having to clean containers, setup a growbox. but things have started pretty easy so far. and I know having plants growing will give me purpose

Welp, both girls are up and seem to be doing ok. I'm not sure what they are, last spring I bought a auto flower seed and it came with a "free seed" the lil baggie it was I was labeled mountain top mint and there was 2 seeds in the baggie. I grew both seeds 1 looked mostly indica an the other mostly sativa. It'll be interesting to see what turn out to be.

Most hybrids have multiple phenotypes so it's quite common to get different plant expressions from the same pack of seeds. Many growers will pheno hunt a pack of seeds to find the plants with the traits they want and then make mother plants from those.

Both girls seem to be growing ok. Not sure what I should be doing now. I watered before the seeds went in an even tho the top of the soil looks dry they still feel heavy. I raised the light up to 16" above the canopy, have to find the manual to check recommend hight but I'm kinda sure it's 16"

Now you sit back and watch. And try not to kill them with too much water. Letting the top dry like you are helps you avoid damping off disease while the sprouts are little.

It was a chilly night but the it didn't seem to bother the girls. they feel a lot lighter today, I'll probably water this morning

Now your objective is to build roots.
Your feed water should be done around the rim.
Getting the roots to chase it.
Make sure you get run-off, that tap root needs something to follow.

Is that Coco?

Stay safe
