Bong?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but here goes. I was gifted a really nice glass bong but it needs a good cleaning. Question is what to use and how to go about it?

Isopropyl at least 50% and a few strong dashes of salt. Put it in the bong and shake well for 2 or 3 minutes. Your bong will be clean. Rinse well.

99 percent isopropyl alcohol works well and so does acetone. Add table salt as abrasive if it's really gross!

I too would love to know secrets. Especially cleaning the widest part of the bottom. Tried a bottle scrubber and ended up scratching it a bit and couldn’t reach the crud. Maybe let it soak with alcohol overnight

Aggressive shaking, and on hard cases using larger rock salt will knock out even the most stubborn crud. Soaking for a while helps, but it is the shaking that does the magic.

The dollar store has nail polish remover for, well, a dollar.

Methylhydrate aka Meth-spirits aka Methyl-alcohol aka Wood Alcohol aka gas-line antifreeze.

Yes, it's toxic, and highly flammable. It also evaporates quickly, and no, it doesn't leave residue. It's water soluble, so after cleaning, let it dry, then rinse with plenty water.

A big jug at a hardware store will cost $10. Do it outside or under a vent hood.
