I have a 600w ETI magnetic ballast designed for HPS lights, if I bought a single ended 630w CMH/LEC bulb am I upgrading my lighting cheaply or am I missing something.

ETI 600w Ballast Magnetic. It has a built-in thermostat that prevents overheating, which is a common problem with conventional ballasts. The ballast can light up 600w MH or HPS bulbs.

I would say since they don't mention it on their site that it is only good with MH or HPS and prob not LEC.

I guess CMH does need much high frequencies to run that light, I just thought as the ballast was magnetic maybe was different, all the research ive done says MAY and COULD cause issues or is it just a clever marketing plan to make me buy a ballast too- without trying and getting a par meter I'm not sure how to check.
I noticed my local grow shop selling :
Vanguard LEC lighting kit with ETI ballast and Philips 315W / 3100K or 4200K lamp and Stuco Reflector.
I have a 400w and 600w ETI ballast which is what makes me think I could run the 630w bulb
