Confused - Coco - AK48 12/12 from seed - 4weeks In

Right its high time i updated with some bud pics, Incase i havent mentioned already im mostly taking pics of the three most impressive ones of the 5 total AK48 due to laziness and the fact they all look pretty much the same lol. So anyways here goes, hope you like em :)

Pictures taken: Sat 16th Nov 2013
Showed pistils: 16th Oct (4.5weeks ago)

This first one is my favourite, its a bit smaller than the others by a few inches but somehow seems quite allot further through the flowering cycle than its buddies. Im hoping to harvest it in two weeks but im not sure if thats too ambitious?

Heres a shot for a bit of perspective, the buds are deceptively sticky and covered in resin the camera really doesnt do justice. Also their super dense buds, really dense!

As for the status in my grow room, things have been a bit strange as i am still having issues with my major yellowing of leaves, its not a major issue with the AK's its mostly occurring on my 4 larger plants. Seem to be losing nearly all fan leaving all the way up. Tried adding nitrogen and nothing yet but going to up the amount i water from 1 litre to 1.5 or so as i have had a wild theory that the water im feeding them with might not be reaching all of the pot, it never dribbles out the bottom like i often hear it should.

Either way my AK's seem to coming along nicely so im still happy :), i just want them to hurry up lol.

They are looking wicked nice Confused :) She still looks nice and healthy green on her other fan leaves though could be the process of them maturing as stated earlier in the journal. But I do think your idea of a nice watering would be a good idea for them.
Keep it up buddy :goodjob:

can't wait to see the other half of bloom. its gonna look like something they would shoot out a motor thingy in war LOL

you need a 30x jewelers loupe to see the trichomes and judge when to harvest. most people harvest from 5%-30% amber trichomes. harvest at 5%-15% amber trichomes for a "head high" energetic effect and harvest at 30%-50% amber trichomes for a "body stone" sedative effect strain dependent.

:woohoo:

I need to pick me up a cheap loupe all I have it that microscope.
How are the girls smelling? Got some different phenos up in there? :)

Their smelling really damn nice man, the AK48 is probably my favourite it smells super sour and just really strong, then theres my trainwreck which doesnt smell of much atall, then my White rhino which somehow smells purely of lemon, then my lemon skunk which smells also of lemons lol and finally my Great White Shark which i am 99.9% sure is actually a GH Cheese as it absolutely stinks of cheese, by far the smelliest and stickiest of all my plants.

Heres a chance for me to learn something lol, phenos - what are they? ive only come across this term recently, i kind of assumed it means either the strain or maybe the breeding line within the strain?

Very nice, the cheesy smells are awesome, I am noticing this for the first time with my vegging plants and am hoping it carries along through flower :)

Pheno or phenotype is going to be the physical differences you can see, and a genotype is going to be the genetic differences.

They are looking great brotha, cant wait to see an update of these babies :thumb:

Hi all, sorry about the long break, have been quite busy recently. Also sorry about the quality of the pics ive had to resort to using my phone for now.

Anyway there have been a few developments since my last update, first of all i have harvest 2 of my AK48's and one Trainwreck plant. Im expecting to have harvested the remaining 3 AK48's and 2 of my remaining 3 other plants by the 22nd Dec.

The weights of the first AK48 i clipped were well crap.. not sure why really i was expecting allot more but here it is;

Wet: 64.96g
Dry: 16.57g
Smoke Report: It smokes really smooth for saying i only gave it a week of flushing, although either due to the lack of proper flushing or maybe the early harvest the taste has majorly gone, tastes ok but not amazing. But it certainly gets me high and grinds out really nicely. :)

Sorry i have just noticed i dont have a picture of the first plant i chopped sadly, but here is the end product hanging and then some 10grams or so dry in a tub :)

And here is my trainwreck, i know its off-topic but still its bud porn lol :) Although there is a sad twist to this ones story, hes a bloody hermie, after my earlier paranoia it seems this bastard was out to get my ladies. I found some big bannana like things still inside their sacks but it made me decide to crop it early..

Those nugs look killer confused! Awesome first grow buddy they look very frosty! :Namaste:
I would recommend a 2 weeks+ flush on your remaining girls, just to make sure they prove to be some nice white ash :)
I have also noticed, (if you can stay out of the jar like I CAN'T , a nice week long cure will bring out those flavors.
Grats on the harvest buddy some reps coming your way!

First grows always have learning curves but spark that fire under your booty that will make you push for the up and beyond, shit i'm on my 3rd and I still stress/stunt my girls. Every grow goes towards experience and knowledge, but every grow should be focused on main points. If I remember correctly this is Confused's first legit grow and he's in coco which is less forgiving than full blown soil. A first grow should probably consist of a harvest no matter what the yield, we are just getting our feet wet so to say. Next grow of course and the following should always have a higher bar set that you want to achieve. I'm just really glad to see people growing their own meds and making to harvest date, there is nothing better than medicating and enjoying your own fabulous medicine.

That's just my 2 cents :) I probably didn't need to post this but I don't think we should be arguing over issues like this. We are here to expand our knowledge base, and with that knowledge base being expanded, those yields will also expand! :blunt:

Hats off to ya Confused :smokin:

you're right. if you don't have any coco left I would suggest getting a bag of soil for the next run. scott's premium potting mix is cheap and good. there is very little nutes in the soil, so you have to start feeding after the first couple weeks (kinda like coco)

I paid $10-15 for this 2 cu ft bag.

I flower in 5 gallon pots, I have found that flowering in smaller pots will decrease yield. cannabis plants will grow best from 70°-90° Fahrenheit and 50%-70% humidity for vegetative growth and 30%-50% humidity for flowering. how far from the light were your plants? you may have harvested too early, I would base my harvest on feedback from the plants and percentage of amber trichomes. I use General Hydroponics Flora series 3 part nutrients that can be mixed for all stages of vegetative growth and flowering. General Hydroponics Flora series nutrients can be used in hydroponic, soil and soiless mediums. I use nutrients every time I water unless I am flushing.
