Curious' Monster Cropped Northern Lights Clones, Originally From 00Seeds

Very nice setups mate. Love it. Looks like I’m just in time for some flowers

I really need to look into those drain to waste trays you’re running. Looks similar to my mate @aussiebuddy
But yeah check out drain to waste system man it makes life sooooooo much easier! I literally have to PH my nute tank daily, rinse and refill once a week. Very low maintenance, leaves lots of time for training and watching for bugs, plant issues.

A couple of friends asked for some clones of this sativa dominate Northern Lights and so thought it would be a good time to try breeding some feminised seeds for possible future use. Just starting to root now on day 8, love these little woolworths cups you can just see the roots through the side wall. Great for cloning.

drain to waste makes life so easy!

do you root in rockwool first or is that straight in coco?
Straight to coco mate, I did try rockwool but found its very easy to over water. Cuttings go straight into water so no air bubbles are caught in stem, quick trim and a scrape then in into clonex for 5 mins before into the cups (coco/perlite) light water not enough to wash away clonex and then into humidity dome, (closed vents with some water in tray) in clone tent (seahawk) with a heat mat for three days 18/6 2 x twin T5 (starlite) then pull out for a foliar with BAC pro active 1ml/L. Little more water in tray if dries up then after 5 days should notice roots through cup. Then I open vents and get them used to not using the humidity and letting them use thier roots with a little feed of ryzo .5ml/L PH5.5. With this method it is usually a 99% success rate. For my environment anyway, has taken a while to find out what works best for me. Do you use rockwool cubes?

End of week one (day7) of flower, this past week the 5 x 9 has put on a lot of growth.

Doesnt look like much room left, but just enough to cover the rest of the stretch (hopefully). :lot-o-toke:

At present still running 2 x 600W HPS and 2 x 400WMH. On week 3 of flower the change over to 4 x 600WHPS, and turn the SF2000 on.

Do you use rockwool cubes?

yep rockwool. ive had 100% success with rockwool since i got the heat mat

soak cubes @ 5.5ph RO water for 15 mins
take cuts, straight in to water while taking all cuts
put cuts in purple yates clonex gel from bunnings for 30 seconds before firmly placing in wool cube
stick it in the dome & mist daily with clonex cloning solution @ 0.5ml/L / 6.0ph
transplant in to coco in after the roots start poking

im still working on getting the transition from the dome right. leaves took a bit of a battering this time but they powered through :)

Heat mat makes a huge difference hey. Humidity is paramount for quick rooting, otherwise it can take weeks, then clones have a shit start and everything takes longer. The quicker the better me thinks.

yep heat mat is a necessary bit of equipment for seeds too i reckon... i thought seeds took days and days for the tap root to break out but since the heat mat they are out in 24 hrs or less for the last 6 ive popped

Such a dumbass! Thought I was uploading my before defol pictures in the 2 x 4 but in fact... they were being deleted #stonermoment.
Ok, so here is an update of the 2 x 4 after defoliating. Pics won't be the best as the 400w HPS globe has been swapped in. (Sunday 20/09 day 14 of flower)

A little lollipopping was done aswell to leave approximately 15-20 tops each plant and just over a foot of canopy penetration.
This strain seems to finish stretching after two weeks as these photos are only two weeks into flower and the flower development is further along then thought it would be.

On an awesome note... I recieved this in the mail today (23/09)
20200923_122220.jpg

The Electric Sky ES300 V2 from the green sunshine company, which will be going into the 2 x 4. Was hoping to have it before chang to HPS, I wonder if it will be OK to change over to LED from HID? Maybe I should just finish and start fresh with it? :peace:

Ok finally a few pictures after lights out. Sitting at day 21 of flower in the 2 x 4.

Flower and trichome development is coming along nicely. Canopy has thickened up again and will need some leaf removal to uncover covered flower sites. EC is sitting at 1.0-1.2, PH5.8. Starting week 4 of flower THC Eksit (trichome development) has been added to nutrient tank along with Power Rock (flower hardener), to help better flower production.

Over in the 5 x 9 Sitting at day 18 of flower the stretch has seemed to be just about over so the 2 x 400W MH globes have been changed over to 2 x 600W HPS globes (4 x 600W HPS). The SP2000 has also been switched on, nutrients sitting at an EC of 1.2, PH 5.8. Cal/Mag has been increased from 50ml/200L to 70ml/200L as stem has a slight purplish tinge.

Hope everyone's grows are green :peace:

Good mate! Wow just realised how long ago my last update was... it's quite easy to neglect them once they are in the set and forget stage of flowering and with life and all the rest of life's ups and downs. Will do an update this evening, and check in with your grow. Thanks for checking in mate and giving me a kick in the butt :thanks:

I'm going to have to get a drain to waste setup like you blokes are running. There's a hydro shop in Knoxfield I want to visit when our Supreme Leader decides to allow us to travel

and check in with your grow
I've been just as lazy with updates. Need a kick in the arse myself

Yeah I noticed a few more cases today, that sucks...
Aww man you have to! It save so much time and effort. Once your in the set n forget stage its literally just a nute change 5-7days and a PH daily. Soooo much more time to sit and stare at your garden  Hmm maybe if I get the blue labs PH controller I would have even more time to sit and stare at the garden:rofl:

Update time only three weeks late, but better late than never. I took a few pictures a couple of weeks ago but didn't have time to post.

Over in the 5 x 9 at approximately day 21 of flower. The girls needed to be thinned out and lollipopped again as there was so much dense growth. It truly is amazing the difference with monster cropped clones and clones taken in vege.

So much lighter in there and alot better air flow. Try to keep the mold and gnats at bay. You don't realise just how dark it was until cleared out. :peace:

over in the 2 x 4 sitting at day 24 of flower a similar instance, lots of dense growth needing a chop.

I try to leave as many leaves as possible without covering flower sites. To help the plant with tired nutrients and light absorption.

But thinking with an El nino summer for us hot and wet might see if can get a quick auto run in before it gets to bad, maybe some gorilla glue autos or a mixed auto run in... aaaaah so many seeds and not enough time or space to run them all.

But really, how could you not want to run this frost queen again. Ready in approximately 45-50 days and for something so frosty she is low on general smell/odour until you touch or bump it and then the strong aroma of sweet citrus and Berry flavours engulf your nostrils... aaah I think I'm in love :circle-of-love: shhh don't tell the mrs
