DWC Auto CFL - 1st Grow Ever

Bud Porn, Only T5 and CFL grown.

Do not let people tell you that CFL or Fluorescent will not grow great weed. Tight, big and tasty. Nothing wrong with CFL's.

Cheers

Did the first res change. 750 ppm and 5.8 pH verified with my new pH pen. Lookin pretty good. Roots are starting to branch out and I added 2 23w clamp on cfls to bring my total to 306 watts

lookin good so far.good lookin start on the dwc.n yeah cfls will do work if used efficiently. ive got a couple successful grows in with them and i was super skeptical at first.. i went with the more light is better train of thought.. i was super impressed with the outcome. had such a shit expectation of them that i just breezed thru the whole grow.. used crap soil, crap water. crap fan.. lolz the list goes on.. grew 4 in 1 gallon buckets.. just over half full of said crap dirt.. harvested 6.5 ozs of some good turtle snack! the germinating thing is nerve wracking. ull have that.. i do a super aggressive process.. its far less time consuming as im a logger not a doctor so naturally im good at killin trees not curing them. lolz. i give the seeds a good back scratchin with a fine nail file, soak em for 24-36 hrs or so.. as soon as i see a tap root.. bam into the dirt. i dont bury them very deep in. bout 1/4 to 1/2 inch. making sure the lil tappy is facin down.. cover lightly with dirt n give em a spritzin with a spray bottle. i spray them 3-4 times a day.. not too much. and normally just over the seed. after they pop up i carefully keep "necking them up" (pushin a lil soil around the stem to keep em held up) and usually within 24 hrs of them breaking the surface i can gently pop their helmet off and introduce them to light. hope this helps in future germin! ill be lurkin around. i like these dwc grows.. i have a few setups to do them but havent quite been able to commit to hydro.. maybe illl have to change that.. well happy growin! :thumb: :peacetwo:

Thanks. I started soaking some bag seeds tonight to practice getting little plants started before I try expensive seeds again. I don't mind failing but I don't particularly like wasting money. I am doing the paper towel method this time then they will be moved to rockwool plugs in a 7in 72 site humidity dome with a heat mat. I hope I have good success rates this time. I weeded out the for sure bad seeds by pinching them. The ones that didn't crush went on to soaking. Wound up with 16 that went to the paper towel. I'll keep you guys updated.

Are the sides of your tubs clear? Im thinkin you might possibly have some light penetration issues in the root zone.. If ya can try wrappin them in somethin to block the light. And that white lid is def gonna have some light perferation too. Foil hvac tape will just about eliminate this for ya. Even some regular duct tape will help too. the roots need to be in dark. :thumb:

Im by no means a hydro pro man but i think 1,000 on ppm just sounds a lil high at this point.. Time shall tell tho my friend! Keep her green bud. :thumb:
It's been 1000 ppm for about 4 or 5 days now and no nute burn. Seems to be loving the levels bit this strain is supposed to be able to handle high levels.

It was clear and the lid was white. I painted both with several coats of flat black then white again. There is almost 0 light leaking in.

I'm keeping my mouth shut. My cooltube took 19 days for pre flower. Bare bulb pre flowers in 7 days. Which when I saw no glass prompted me to post what I did. If you don't know, you don't know.

Cheers

My auto just started showing pistils about 36 days from sprout. I think it may have been coincidence that it showed the day after I plugged in the hps. But that's a strong coincidence.
