EhCndGrower And The 7 Dwarfs

Day 119 (Day 49 Flowering) Man it’s so close to the finish line now. I had to water them again today and just went with water and my molasses today. I know the growers recommended flowering time should be taken with a grain of salt, but I’m wondering if I should start flushing or use my nutrients for one more week? All my plants were 8-10 weeks and tomorrow is the start of week 8. They are looking good in there and I have the pics to prove it, but my hairs are still mostly white and still looked pretty clear under my Jeweler Magnifier.

Day 121 (Day 51 Flowering) Really starting to notice them plumping up some. Gorilla Bomb is finally starting to get bigger, but not frosty looking at all. Girl Scout Cookies is really getting bigger with lots of new calyxes popping up in the past 3-4 days. I read somewhere that if I can dim my lights a bit near the end to do so. Thankfully I did getting that dimmer installed when I purchased my Quantum Board and have them between 60-70% power now. Maybe this will help frost up my Gorilla Bomb and on the new growth of my GSC. I shall hopefully see something soon if this is true, and maybe see it on my next update

Yeah I checked some that looked frosty but were still pretty clear with the occasional cloudy pieces here and there. Although I think I’m looking for a more couch lock effect for nighttime relief, which makes this wait even more painful.

Decisions decisions I was gonna buy the California solar systems 1100 with controller which is 1700+229 plus shipping American, pretty much 2500,

Stu why don't you take a look at HLG 550 V2 (or 600H V2) panel in 27K or 3K for flower. Can get 2 for $1600ish (US) and that's going to be more coverage and I think better light that what you are looking at IMHO. They are great lights lots of folks here are using them. They run pretty cool too no internal fans either.

For VEG a 260 V2 from HLG is perfect. I bought 1 a month ago and my VEG room took off big time.

CdnGrower - take a close look at your Gorilla Bomb plant. I see mites and they can get out of hand quick. You are getting close to harvest so need to get rid of them if that's what they are. Little white spots on the leaves and I saw some webbing in a few pics. Neem oil at this stage is WAY too strong and will ruin your final product. You need spinosad or something similar (safers brand is sold in Canada) but gotta stay clear of the oils. Then before you harvest spray plants down with water a few days before harvest a few days in a row.

Bud washing is good too.

Can do alcohol / water solution as well. If you have mites now its going to be an issue pretty quick and bad timing. I should have mentioned it earlier. I went back and took a look at earlier updates, they have been there for a little bit already.

Fans on the soil line (not big ones).
IPM regular weekly intervals as a preventative measure.
IPM needed 2-3 times weekly with pests.

I don't see them on all plants. Sometimes its 1 or 2 plants that get them, they send out pheromone signals to the other plants "there's something munching on me" and the other plants divert energy into fending off pests. That can be a good thing but the mites will eventually take over.

We all get them eventually so don't feel bad you just gotta get on it now. Nothing to do during harvest week that will help. Cept bud washing after chop.

After harvest gotta clean up real good and spray down with peppermint soap and clean. They are relentless and will be back. The Borg suck.

IPM weekly and fans on the soil tco them, until you quit the IPM.

Those buggers like hot and humid conditions. Can cool it down a little bit now and get some color in your plants and that slows down the mites a little bit.

You gotta get on this, it will pass soon enough and life will go on. I hate mites.

Sadly and thankfully good eyes there. I thought the damage was from my previous mite infestation, and sure enough they were back. I took out my magnifier and saw one on a leaf but thankfully didn’t look as bad as my previous infestation. I really think they came from my Cinderella 99 clone, as the person who gave it to my cousin had his own/same problem too. Got my dehumidifier running and sprayed everyone down with the water/alcohol solution once again. Boosted my humidity to 73% but should go down pretty fast and will be checking on again this afternoon a few more times.

Day 123 (Day 53 Flowering) thanks again to @Pennywise and @bobrown14 for your help. The mites was something I was over but they are stubborn buggers. The webs bobrown14 I think you are seeing are actually stray hairs coming off me from my dog (avatar picture) Been keeping my temps around 73F and around 60F or lower over night. The humidity is below 40% thanks to my humidifier and feeding cool dry air from my window via a duct line into the tent. So I’m staying off my nutrients and just going straight water and molasses until the end. The new growth on my Girl Scout Cookies might of been light stress and caused some foxtailing on my girl. (I think that’s what it is from online readings) So I have moved my lights up about 6 inches and dimmed my lights a couple of days ago. Here’s hoping they weren’t set back a bit for finishing, although they will be huge now. Also have peppermint soap galore right now for Xmas. Took some and just rubbed a bit around the tops of my felt pots. Maybe help with pests but also doing a great job to curb the smell a bit too.

Ok I spoke too soon. I did have some webbing on of my Cinderella 99 plant cola. Like I said, probably the root of this mite problem. So I did more alcohol/water mix and sprayed them down. Used my fingers and wiped off the webs and sprayed them like crazy. So am I crazy to keep trying to give it life or am I better to get it out of the tent and call it a learning experience/loss? Not really producing many useable buds and look more popcorn like. I loved the sample I was given but I have seeds I can grow from scratch on my 2nd grow.

I think the biggest issue is having the mites spread to the plants that are producing. If it won't hurt your stash you may want to think about getting it out of the tent.

So I removed my Cinderella 99 but clipped off a few buds and will try my luck. Some looked like they would still be smokeable if dried and cured properly. So trimmed, washed and spread out across a piece of cardboard. Looked over and looked clean and placed the board in the tent again just because of the smell. My gawd did it smell up the house when I removed and started cutting. Roots looks like they were in ok shape too. Will see how things turn up soon I guess.
