First Ever Grow Journal

Good thinking. You're on the right track now. You don't want something that gets slurry like that soil likely would. And then you transplant make sure it's 2 or 3 days after watering. You don't want them super dry but you don't want the weight of wet dirt either, it will break and fall apart mid transplant

Well I got the new soil mixed up today. 75% soil 25% perlite

Once my lady’s dry out a little more I’ll be transplanting them into 1 gal pots

Ah, much better my friend! Your roots will love you for the added oxygen pockets. You will see a big difference and won't be as hard to achieve 10% runoff when you water now.

So I checked on my lady’s tonight lights are off now will get a pic in the am.

But I noticed all 3 plants the leaves tips are starting to turn a bit yellow and I’ve noticed so browning near the center and upper edges of my leaves could this be an npk deficiency. Or more likely the fact my ph is on the higher end

On up potting I think you want to get into your final pot with at least 2 weeks before flower. The roots do not grow much at all during flower.

Here’s what my lady’s are looking like today all kinds of different things going on. Hard to see the drown spots but they are there

So here it is day 14 and I did my first transplant

The soil in the cups was a little dryer then I would have liked but went well otherwise.

I added 2 ml of cal-mag to my water and set my ph to 6.4.

As you can see from the previous pix my plants were not looking the greatest

I assume this is due to my ph being on the high end of things

but could easily be a cal-mag issue.

So I tried to kill to birds with one stone most likely not the right way to go about it

Im sure I should have addressed the ph then if things were still going sideways add some cal-mag.

The lady’s should like there new home

Here are some pix from the transplant

Day 17. As you can see from the pix 2 out of the 3 plants have experienced quite a bit of growth in the last few days.

The 3rd well it’s still alive I’m not sure it’s going to make it after all the punishment my non green thumb has put to it.

I feel like (1) overwatering

(2) the lack of perlite in the soil

And (3) possibly the lack of nutrients in the soil after 2 weeks has caused most of my issues lol

If I had not been over watering the plants they would not be stunted and by week 2 would have possible been bigger

I feel like overwatering could have washed most of the nutrients from the soil as well

As soon as I put them in bigger pots with fresh soil they start to take off.

After putting them in the fresh soil I watered until there was about 10% run off

I think the addition of the perlite has really helped drainage and getting air to the roots

How much water are you giving them. Are you measuring how much goes in.

No I have not been. Every thing I read and videos I watch say to water until you get 10% run off

My problem was that I was not waiting on the soil to dry out before watering again and the soil not having proper drainage
Both problems have been fixed now

Today is day 18 it finally seems as though my plants are starting to grow

As a total noob I’ve made quite a few mistakes thus far but I’m learning from them

As you can see 2 of my lady’s are doing very well

My blue dream on the other hand is not but as you can see from the pic there’s some new growth happing with her so maybe all is not lost

I finally had a chance to install my heating/cooling plugin this will allow me to control the temp a load better and I will no longer have to get up at 4:55am to open to door a crack so it does not get to hot in my grow space
