Hey every one this is my first journal so please be patient and kind. Im growing two plants atm one is moby dick the other is cheese. Cheese is at 4 weeks started from seed from green house seeds im pretty sure it is 2 weeks into the veging stage and moby dick is 3 weeks old started from seed nt sure the company tho it is one week into its veg stage. I have them under a 400 watth atm
20 hours on 4 hours of. I have a 68 litre tank with three airstones running all the time a 500 watt fish tank heater with built in thermo set at 20 and a 300lph submersible pump. I have an oscilating fan on all the time with a 125mm ezi air outlet fan. Room size is 4m by 2m. I am using dutch master nutrients gold one range root zone, silcia, add .27 and finnally the main fert i am also using canazyme. Im using liquid light and saturator twice a week wen lights are about to come on. Watering cycle is every 12 hours and comes on for 10 minutes. Im growing in two 28l pots with 1/3 perlite 2/3 coir. Moby has sighns of nute burn have flushed with 50 litres of 1/3 strength nutes and now back on track.

I'd use the EC meter; whilst you can live without one it gives you a much better idea of what's going on and if you need to up or lower the nutes.

For instance, if your EC is rising the plant's using water faster than nutes so the nutrient concentration is too high - add water.
If the EC drops then the plant's using more nutes than water so up the nutes.
If it stays the same then it's at the right concentration and the plant's using water and nutes at the same rate.

10mins in 12 hours also seems a long time between waterings for hydro, but what system; drip feed, or flood etc? As the pants get bigger you may want to think about increasing this (though admittedly I'm using hydroton - perlite and coir will retain more water)

Get some pictures up mate, always good to see what's going on!

Im a using top feed drip system no recovery and that is true about coir holding more water i have a ph/moisture metre to check for drty pockets and what not. Ok mate thanks for that advice has really helped cheers.

If you click Gallery on the tool bar at the top, at the top right you'll then see a link (green writing) that says Upload Photos. Click on that and then you can upload photos from your computer, then when writing a post you can click the camera icon in the tool bar above where you write (it's to the right, third icon in) and then you can choose the photo/s you want displayed in the post.

If its not a recirculating system you could probably get away without the EC pen then. Very handy when you're recirculating the nutes but may be less so if not

Ok so to up date my journal i got my ec pen working. My pump is nw on a timer and my watering cycle is every 8 hours for 10 minutes i finally found my right balance. Im in the second week of my grow my ec is 1.5 and ph is 5.9 in soil ph is 6.7 and staying steady. My cheese looks very healthy and is veging very nicely alot of green. My moby has recovered from its nute burn and is formin some new veg not alot on this but much is forming now. Everything else is fine quite happy with every a the moment. Will be installing my carbon filter in the next couple weeks.

Now i have some time I cn update my journal. Ihave finally finished setting up my flowering room. I have a 50l nute tank with three air stones, a 300lph pump and of course an air pump. I have a 600w hps light with two 130w cfl as side lighting. I have a 150mmx500mm carbon filter attatched to a 150mm inline fan l my inlet has a 150mm inline fan as well. Am using ozi magic big bud dutch master flower one, add .27, zone, silcia, saturator and liquid light. My cheese plants is about 5-6 weeks and is approx 950mm high ill be getting ready to flower next week. My moby dick is about 3-4 weeks nw and is about 650mm high.

I have an idea for my grow room and that is maybe try using the sodastream co2 canisters to boost co2 levels only problem i have is what the ppm would be and how much co2s in a canister

hey mate.. Good luck with it buddy!! Sounds like you got some nice strains there:) Ill be back in to have a look soon. Catch ya mate, Smokemup..
