wow of course it is! Never seen an adult one 
but there were definitley some in there as I saw one or two babies in the run off water once and a gazillion babies crawled onto and died on a yellow sticky trap at one point early on too.thanks for that Pt
.Most of what you see in a google search about springtails and cannabis says they’re not a problem in low numbers. I’m not overly confident in the sources I’ve found o dat tho. Anyone have som reliable info on springtails in organic soil. It’s pretty rich this stuff as it’s sold as ‘water-only’ so, there’s going to be stuff in it!
I wonder what those other ones are...
springtails are beneficial if im not mistaken ..; they take dead plant materials and break them down in absorbable nutrients for the plants... i dont think their numbers are of any influence on that

My best notion at present is that they were biting midges. This first aid page about them has a pic that matches what i have.

no surprises, seeing as i live adjacent to a wetlands! I’m glad its no longer a mystery
And that the other things are definitely fungus gnats not root aphid, phewf! right?!
Anyone have any thoughts on this? It appeared on both of my non-fruiting olive trees that are about 30 feet apart:
I sprayed one with neem and one with a mix of 70% iso and water (1:9), and the following day I hosed off the plants to get rid of anything I might have missed.
