Gadget Guy's PermaDream 1st DIY RDWC Journal

It’s not always a good thing to push a rez for 2 weeks. I’m a firm believer or changing weekly and using a sterile bucket with every change. It Illuminates the possibility of bad bacteria in your water my water temperature to reach 80+ degrees and still have no issues but I also use silica SI by General hydroponics instead of mammoth p or z7.

My roots still have damage from our rocky start. I just got the chiller a few weeks ago. Before that, it was ugly. (caught a 1/4 hp ecoPlus chiller for $65, runs perfect). This is my "learning" crop.

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!
My girl looks good and squat but on closer examination, this is what I found. Is this mold? High/low tent temps are 88/73. Humidity low/high is 37/77. Chiller is at 66 degrees. Just did a nute change. This "stuff" was there before the nute change. I just didn't want to notice it. I'm getting a dehumidifier at the end of the month if that helps.
I swear after this grow, I will be a guru!

yeah the chiller is a definite if you are starting rdwc IMO. a little extra electricity for amazing roots = win. I fought off a bunch of organics induced pythium and finished the run last run but my stuff tasted off and didnt yield half as what I should. make sure you clean your system real good and h202 for a day before you start your next run. :)

Okay guys. Back from the grow store. Ever heard of THRIPS? They say it's common. This is a Google pic of a leaf with thrip eggs next to mine. I think I have roaches! I mean thrips. Grow store has some stuff for $28, Home Depot has it for $15. I tried to give them business but hell.

Okay, this is what I did. I waited until a couple of hours before lights on and sprayed the hell out of her top and under. I let it air dry without fans or lights. I'm about to turn the lights back on.

The grow shop had a solution for $27. This stuff was under $5. It says THRIPS in the inside cover so I think I have the right stuff.
I am just in the 2nd week of flower so no buds to contaminate.
Stay tuned.

Hey Troops!
It's been a minute. I had a scare and almost had to end the grow (family stuff).

Anyway, she is doing great. Got rid of the bugs. FREAKIN' THRIPS! The remedy left a nasty looking film on the leaves. I finally got that all washed off and grown out.

I see my bud sites. I just lowered the light because ..... I just wanted to? I put it down to 12 inches because I heard a guy say his plant stretched up to the light spreading the buds out. I'll check her in a day for signs of light stress.

We are kinda intimate. I notice every little thing because I spend a lot of time looking at her.

I'm pushing 2.5 ECs now (that's 1176 PPMs). That's 75% of what's ok no the bottle. I was at 50% and she was doing great then slowed down. I'll see how she likes it tomorrow even though I see a little burn. Is a little burn okay if I'm trying to push the limits? What does nute burn actually do besides make her ugly. Some of the best girls I've had were ugly! Not really, but it sounded funny and I'm medicated.
PEACE!

Slowed growth dosent mean add more nutes, especially in flower

Yer plants look pretty ruff, and not all looks like bugs issues to me, I'd do like PW said and go back to 1/2 nutes, I never go above that myself
